Free agents that seem like a good fit, price/ talent/ age; to fill the few roster holes with vet players

one BIG splash signing:

Tee Higgins CINCINNATI BENGALS WR

At 26 years old, Tee Higgins is in the prime of his career. He has been the No. 2 receiver in Cincinnati but now has his chance to show he's a true No. 1. He is big and coming off a season with 10 touchdowns in 12 games. His market will be robust…

Then some value players:

Divine Deablo LAS VEGAS RAIDERS LB

This 27-year-old has made a nice transition from college defensive back to NFL linebacker. He is naturally good in coverage, but he also has the speed to chase down plays in the run game. Injuries have kept him out of games at times, but he is worth a look for teams seeking a speed upgrade at linebacker

Jeremy Chinn WASHINGTON COMMANDERS SS

Jeremy Chinn took a one-year, prove-it deal with the Commanders and was a big part of their improved defense. Chinn was much better in coverage than he was in Carolina in his first four seasons. That matters. He turns 27 later this month

Elijah Molden LOS ANGELES CHARGERS CB

The Chargers traded a seventh-round pick before the season to land Elijah Molden. He paid off in a big way, giving their secondary some veteran stability on the back end. He did suffer a broken fibula in Week 15, but he should be a go for next season. He just turned 26.

Chauncey Golston DALLAS COWBOYS DE

Chauncey Golston is coming off a career-best 5.5-sack season to head into free agency on an upward note. He is a big-bodied edge who is just 26, which is why there should be a market for him. He played 72% of the Cowboys' defensive snaps last season.

D.J. Jones DENVER BRONCOS NT

This 30-year-old has been a reliable starter in both of his stops, first with the 49ers and then with the Broncos. He's a good run player who can occasionally push the pocket. He isn't going to wow anybody, but he gets the job done

Speed receivers:

Darius Slayton NEW YORK GIANTS WR

Slayton is a speed receiver, and we know a lot of teams need help in that area. Slayton's numbers were down last season, his sixth with the Giants, but that had a lot do with Malik Nabers showing up, along with bad quarterback play. He'd be a nice third receiver for a team. He just turned 28, so he's two years away from the dreaded age of 30

Dynami Brown WASHINGTON COMMANDERS WR

This speed receiver finally started to live up to his draft hype late this season. He had 30 catches during the regular season, but then had 14 and a touchdown in three playoff games. He is 25

Marquise BrownKANSAS CITY CHIEFS WR

Hollywood Brown missed most of 2024 with a shoulder injury, but did come back down the stretch and the playoffs. He did some good things in the postseason, but was a no-show in the Super Bowl. He is a speed threat who turns 28 in June

Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

If we truly want to swing for the fences this Free Agency and really pay someone. Pay Tee Higgins NOT Khalil Shakir. Maybe $20M/year would get it done?

Tedarrell Slaton, NT, Green Bay Packers

6’4 330lbs run stopping behemoth, brings size, youth and physicality to our DL. Will most likely get about $4M/year.

Marcus Maye, S, Chargers

Experienced veteran, adds depth to safety, will probably get around the veteran minimum.

The only big splash I want is a big DT, other wise their is no one who excited me that we need. If Josh wants Brown I am all in there for the proper price, but MVS was such a bust here I definitely don't feel he is need at all.

Higgins isn't signing for $20M or anything close to that.  He is gonna get high 20's or maybe even 30M per.

I think they will sign, in addition to a trade for a Crosby or Garret, a solid/really good corner or safety, but I kinda like signing Slayton. Think he would really have a great year here and open up the field for everyone else. After that spend all the assets on the defense and hopefully we luck into a couple big time standouts!

He’s very good but not $30M good. Spotrac says $25M, you say $30M, I guess we’ll have to wait and see..

Can you imagine our offense with Higgins, Shakir and Cook though? Especially if Coleman and Kincaid take a step?

I didn't say I was against signing him, but he isn't going to sign for anything close to $20M.  Spotrac has Shakir at like $19.7M (although I think he signs on a home town discount for less).

Higgins is the only high quality WR on the market.  Next best is Cooper who is a class below Higgins.  And I didn't say he was worth $30M, but that doesn't mean he won't still get closer to $30M than $20M.  I mean Christian Kirk who was far less accomplished than Higgins got $20M per when he signed with the Jags and that was like 3 years ago.

$25M is about what I think he is worth, but I think there is a reasonable chance he can get more, probably like $27M+ per

I’m okay with $25M/year for Higgins. This offense would be unstoppable. Maybe he would take slightly less to play with Josh?

Higgins will get paid at least DJ Moore $$$, and that's $27M. He could get more close to Aiyuk $$$ and that's $30M. He's coming off of 73 catches for 911 and 10 TD's in just 12 games. He's 6'4", 220lbs, has enough speed, good hands, and he just turned 26.

I'd like a boundary WR - I think T Higgins will be too expensive at around $27M+.  So I go with one of these Beane can get at a decent value:

D Adams - not a FA yet, but will be.

C Godwin - off an injury so there is some risk.

DHop

A Cooper

K Allen

Would love to see a trade for DK Metcalf, or C Kupp either.

Bills aren’t signing Higgins, Kupp, Adams, Godwin, Hopkins or Allen. Holy Moley. Nope. No thank you on all of these guys. Between age, salary, and redundancy, none of these guys fit the Bills needs and cap. I think Hollins comes back, Cooper will test the Market, and the Bills will ultimately use assets on a young FA speedster like Brown from Washington or one of their top 3 picks on a WR. I’d rather they go after a proven vet corner and interior DL.

Give me:

Cb-Murphy Jr

S-Holland

Wr- Slayton

DL-Calais

Bring back Ty and Hollins at least.  Cut Von and Daquon.  We'll need a new deal/restructure Josh to fullest and Ed.  Possibly rework deals for some others.

We'd be set in secondary and can attack the draft at DL, where there will be plenty of options to choose from at edge and DT.
