No matter who you have on your team, it's very very hard to be that consistently good to great over that length of time. And considering they have the best point differential by am almost unheard of 250 points over the 2nd place team over that time, hard to say a lot. People who do are just looking for something to complain about. Sure, we could use more top end talent, but so could most teams if we are being honest. At the end of the day, they just need to figure it out on D in the key playoff games. To this I’d say. Josh Allen. Edited February 18 by balln 1 Quote

I don’t care how the Bills defense ranked at the end of the regular season. They always folded like origami in the playoffs. Always. 1 Quote

I always said McDermott would’ve still won a couple division titles even without Allen, that’s what I think of the division we play in. But they’ve also beat the Chiefs 4 straight times in the regular season so I don't think the Bills are only strong due to a weak division. We use the Chiefs playoff losses to diminish everything good the Bills have done. I don’t understand why. When we were losing we made excuses for why we were losing. Now when we are winning we make excuses for why we are winning. You have a team that has been successful on offense because of Josh Allen and successful on defense because of Sean McDermott. It’s that simple. They’ve been a very good team. We can talk playoff losses to the Chiefs and Bengals all day if we want but let’s not make it more than it is. Quote

Since 2019 the Bills have played 9 playoff games that were not against KC, allowing only 19.2 points per game and having a record of 7-2. Since 2019 the Bills have played 4 playoff games against KC allowing a whopping 35 Points per game and an 0-4 record. The problem with the Defense is against only 1 team. It's significant, over a 15.8 point game swing. Edited February 19 by OldNMBillsFan 2 1 Quote

I think in 2023 they were just off base and in actual fact the Bills probably underachieved by a win or two. In 2024 I think they were possibly too high on our divisional opponents, but I think they were pretty much right on the Bills and we probably overachieved by a win or two (especially if you consider they almost certainly win week 18 if they needed the game). Need epa / dvoa metrics Nonsense, To win a game you need to score more points than the opponent. A defense that is second in the league with fewest points allowed since 2019 is going to win a lot of games with an average offence. And win many more with a stellar offence. Quote

Andy Reid has lost playoff games to Jake Dellhome, Kerry Collins, and Brad Johnson. Another thing I think is true. The Chiefs for whatever reason get up for the Bills like no other team. I don’t know if the Bills just believe the Chiefs are going to do the same stuff they did in the regular season, but they tend to save their best for the Bills playoff matchup. I do feel like there’s something to them creating game winning plays off of plays from the first matchup. Also Mahomes seems to run more vs us in the playoffs. Mahomes running is what really wins them the game. For example, first matchup Mahomes had zero rushes. AFC championship game he had 11 for 43 yards and 2 TDs. Again, smoke and mirrors. In those 9 other playoff games that were not against KC, we played Blake Bortles, Skyler Thompson, Mac Jones, Mason Rudolph, Rookie Bo Nix, Playoff Lamar, etc. The only great QB we played in those 9 other games was Joe Burrow and we gave up 27 points. We have had one of the easiest stretches of wildcard play in history. Edited February 19 by Einstein 1 Quote
