2019 - anyone with eyes saw DK Metcalf's workout - saw the pictures.

They take Cody Ford 38th overall.

Passed on Metcalf and AJ Brown

How many other teams passed on them?

Really mixed bag with him here.  EJ Manuel, Robert Woods, Kiko Alonso, Sammy Watkins Cyrus Kouandjio, Marcell Dareus, Ronald Darby, Shaq Lawson, and Reggie Ragland.  Not sure who to give credit for Tre White and Dawkins though.

McDermott absolutely ran the 2017 draft.  White and Dawkins were his picks.   Whaley and Monos were absolute clowns.  Whaley should have spent more time trying to find a QB and less time with the owners daughter.

Beane's failures in the early round are why we can't get over the hump. This team doesn't have enough high end talent. It's also been hamstrung by bad contracts given out by Beane.

Absolutely right Josh Allen is carrying McBeane on his back these guys would've been fired yrs ago if they didn't draft Joshie.

So you think everyone's opinions hold the same weight?  Even if they've shown they are completely useless?

My point, which I could have made clearer, is that Brady might have become better for having had a coach like Belichick. The Belichick-enhanced Brady then goes to Tampa Bay and wins another SB; meanwhile, Belichick cannot instaneously produce another Brady.

It may be that QBs matter more than coaches but it may also be that a good coach can make a QB more successful. That's all I'm saying.

It is notoriously difficult to predict which college QBs will be successful in the pros. Look at how many 1st round QBs turn out to be busts.

From a development standpoint, sure maybe McD and BB were helpful.

the distinction is irrelevant now because Josh is that dude NOW. Just like Brady was that dude at 30. They don’t need the developing. They are superstars.

Unlike the majority of the local media - Monos & Dunne can speak freely without worries of being frozen out of access over at One Bills Drive

Monos speaks whats obvious  - the Bills have been awful in rd1 & 2  and thats whats keeping the Bills from being better than they are

See the Bills own inside video of Mcdwermott ponching for joy when they drafted Boogie Basham in rd2 - a total bust and 2 picks later the Chiefs drafted All Pro Center Cree

Monos may have offered good insight that Mcdermott is all over picks in rd1 & rd2,,,,,,,the scouting staff does more of the rd3 and later....see where the success has been

More flamethrowing from Dunne. Monos has been gone a very long time. Why are we entertaining sour grapes?

it's hardly flame throwing.  He has a point, regardless of his history with the Bills.

Meh, Monos can make fair (and obvious) points and still be an axe to grind loser desperately hanging onto relevancy.

It’s kind of a common theme of Ty Dunne’s network.

Most are accurate. IMO most here look at who said it and don't read it. The guy was a failure with the Bills so he has no idea what he's talking about and he has an axe to grind.

I don't see pointing out the obvious as axe grinding.   It was pretty mild criticism...

If the guys responsible for drafting Josh Allen didn’t draft Josh Allen…

😂

They hit the lottery. Lucky guys. A child could make that pick. It more an indictment on Cleveland and the Jets. Thats why their front offices and coaches got fired a long time ago. McBeane didn’t do anything special. Just got lucky.

I’m Not so sure this was luck. They could’ve traded up more and o pick another QB. I don’t think it was just reaching for what’s left, although they have done this with other 1st round picks. I’m going to give credit where it’s due, however I still agree with Monos; other than Josh, their 1st and 2nd round picks have been abysmal.

What ifs are fun, but I wonder if we have a Super Bowl already if we didn’t trade with KC in 2017. I’m not even saying we should’ve taken Mahomes there, but if we didn’t trade with KC, another team very well have taken Mahomes instead of KC. Maybe an NFC team. Or one not coached by Reid.

Perhaps you have selective memory. Monos was widely panned as a clown when he was here, as was Whaley.

Yes. It's not like Monos had the answers when it was his job to build the Bills. So why does he get to second guess our current, far more successful regime? It's like Rex Ryan taking about McDermott having a lack of commitment. 😂

Would it be better if it was Marv Levy making the comments?   Just cause he failed as a part of the front office doesn't mean he doesn't know what he's talking about. He made some really good points.

We're you in a coma during the 2018 draft? Do you not remember the "expert" opinions on Josh Allen? Does the phrase "Wrong Josh" ring a bell?

Further, did you also forget that the Bills made TWO trades to get up to #7 to draft Allen? Luck had nothing to do with it. Brandon Beane pulled a real-life "Draft Day: the Movie" to get our franchise QB. Too suggest anything less is hilarious.

Are they good points because they're good, or you just want to agree with them?

Also, Levy wasn't a player personnel expert, as was proven later, sadly. So no, his comments wouldn't mean more. And last I heard, he wasn't offering his opinion.

You know, most people in a hole stopping digging.
