If you think Coleman can provide the same production as Shakir, you aren’t watching that close. …and who said Shakir is getting 20 per? I bet Shakir re-ups in Buffalo for $19-20M AAV. Which at that price point is a mistake. IMO. 2 Quote

In 2024 Bernard made 55 solo tackles and had 49 assists for a total of 104. According to nfl.com he also missed 24 tackles, which is the 5th most in the league. I’d like to see a possible replacement drafted this season. Good talent at LB can be had later so not a premium pick. 1 1 1 Quote

It said he was projected at 19.3M per year. I just rounded up to 20M. At that number Shakir signing a 5 year deal would be around a 100M dollar deal. No way is he worth that. I'd give him a Gabe Davis contract at 3yrs 39M or 13 per year Edited Sunday at 08:43 PM by JakeFrommStateFarm Quote

I think he'll get a 3 year contract extension that pays him $15m per year (a little more than Darnell Mooney) over the next four years which I'd have no problem with. Love the YAC ability and finding soft spots in zones. Just wish he was a better route runner. 1 Quote

If their plan outside is trade / FA then not sure if Shakir fits. 1 1 Quote

I doubt they go the free agency route at least this off-season. Bengals will pry re-sign Higgins and Darius Slayton doesn't really move the needle for me. My hope is they re-sign Cooper to a one year deal. Give him a full off-season in the system and develop some more chemistry with Josh. I have no clue how they'll address the outside WR long term. 2 1 Quote

The question is whether there is enough further improvement in them all to come to make it worth the opportunity cost of spending that money at other spots. Because as you identify at the start of your post only one of the 4 - Benford - plays a premium position. The ideal way to fill slot receiver, middle linebacker and running back are with one contract guys you draft between rounds 2 and 5 get great production out of and then recoup a pick in the comp formula when someone else pays them, or solid vets who come off other teams after their rookie deal and ideally have been slightly miscast in their roles so come at a bargain price - see Zach Baun in Philly this year Great post Gunner agree 💯 1 Quote

GreggTX Posted Monday at 10:32 PM Posted Monday at 10:32 PM It's a great draft for RB's and while Cook is very good, he's not an all pro. Trade Cook and Milano for picks and trade up into the top 12 maybe??? We have a ton of day 3 picks. Draft someone with elite talent to help our DL instead of a bunch of rotational guys. I think Ray Davis would be outstanding if he had more touches too. Besides, when is the last time you saw Cook run through a tackle? Quote
