Might not make him the "worst" but definitely puts him in the "biggest bust" category. Absolute stiff. 2 Quote
muppy Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Its really hard to pick. Here's a name for consideration. Kaiir Elam? am I wrong? 3 hours ago, GunnerBill said: Peterman. Hands down. I always recall he was a training camp wonder. And then in games he was dreadful in historic proportion 1 Quote
Nitro Posted February 14 Posted February 14 If you are talking about only guys who were drafted and their draft position i would go with Walt Patulski. Number one overall draft pick who was soft. To quote Lou Saban "in tough situations, he would take the easy way out" and that was accurate. Quote

Another Buddy Nix era player Duke Williams was terrible. Torell Troupe. Come on man, the possibility of having Wood, Wang and Livitre on the same team was too much to pass up. 2 Quote
L Ron Burgundy Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Didn't read the whole thread, hoping there's love for the beast Aaron Maybin? Qb craving, Maybin. Quote
AlCowlingsTaxiService Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Tony Hunter … perhaps the worst TE to ever “play” for a team with a fairly putrid history at the position. Dawson Knox may be the best Bills TE in the history of the team and that illustrates the point 1 Quote

DCofNC Posted February 14 Posted February 14 2 hours ago, Brianmoorman4jesus said: I’m going to say it was EJ. I think the fact that he had expectations and never got any better is why. Was he worse than a 3rd string CB that never saw the field? No. All things considered, where we drafted him, the fact that his best play was his first 2 games and he only got worse…the guy was terrible. I hated that 13 season so much because he just ruined it. I was a big FSU fan at the time, was SO excited he was leaving bc he was holding them back and the Bills go and draft him in the first round no less. He was a 4th/5th round developmental project at best and those numbnuts took him in the first AFTER trading down. You mean to tell me, you haven’t seen a QB off the board yet and you are trading down, still with intent to draft a QB and nobody says “you know, maybe this is a bad call”? Unreal. GeNO Smith should have been the pick and it still would have been bad, but at least understandable. Quote

He didn’t do a goddamn thing to get us out of that drought. All defense. His dumb ass was just along for the ride. Quote

Based on draft position it has to be Mike Williams. At least Tom Cousineau netted us a first round pick. 1 Quote

BigDingus Posted February 14 Posted February 14 (edited) I can't remember every practice squad or 3rd stringer that ever played for the team, so I'm just going off biggest disappointments in terms of draft selection. 1. Aaron Maybin 2. Kaiir Elam 3. Mike Williams 4. Erik Flowers 5. Perry Tuttle Honorable mentions to Vontae Davis for making it half a game before retiring at halftime, and Nate Peterman for just being Nate Peterman. Edit: Oh, and Rob Johnson. What a waste of time, money & effort. He was never any good, and all hopes of him being good ruined actual good teams by forcing him upon us. 7 hours ago, The Wiz said: I'm basically playing the devils advocate on this one I'll just say that the facts are still pretty damning for him: 1st round pick beat out by a 6th rounder had to trade for a 30 yr old CB to replace him the journeymen that we have normally get the call up over him when the starting 2 are out. But I've always thought Elam was bad & never had any faith in him. The fact he was a 1st round pick & stayed on the roster this long just reaffirms my feelings. Edited February 14 by BigDingus Quote
Utah John Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I want to nominate Al Cowlings. The Bills drafted him number 5 overall in the 1970 draft, primarily because his very good friend OJ Simpson wanted his buddy around. He played three seasons for the Bills, during one of the very dark periods of the team's history, and ironically was traded from Buffalo to Houston prior to OJ's breakout season in 1973. Cowlings is best known for the slow speed Ford Bronco chase, with him at the wheel, after Simpson's wife and her friend were found murdered. Quote

I think he went to a California team but I don't remember which one. Amazingly, he was picked in the same draft as Jim Kelly, two picks BEFORE Kelly. Quote
Bill from NYC Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Another honorable mention would be OT Greg Jerman. Greg was cut by the Dolphins. What did the Bills do? They picked him up and put him in at left tackle where he was bad beyond words. He could not pass block or run block and our qbs and rbs were getting slaughtered. I would watch game hoping that no Bills players would be seriously injured or killed. This poor guy would get tossed around like a frisbee. As of 2014 he is a lawyer and an Assistant DA in Texas. I wish him the best. Quote
May Day 10 Posted February 14 Posted February 14 The Bills got started right. Their 1st ever pick was an absolute bum Richie Lucas. Quote
