Interesting:

I doubt this goes anywhere but interesting on a couple of fronts. Clearly the Steelers are looking for a “win now” QB. Rodgers feels like a decent option. Maybe Darnold?  Maybe Cousins (despite his horrible year)? Maybe someone like Kyler or Geno? Who knows but it sounds like they are thinking outside the box.

Secondly, the Jags must be horrible to deal with 🤣🤣. I’m pretty confident that Pittsburgh didn’t want this out there.

I get it from the Steelers perspective. I don't get it from the Jaguars perspective since they just hired Liam Coen who has been an offensive minded coach and Quarterback's coach pretty much his whole career. You would think they brought Coen in to get the best out of Lawrence. He's have to love Sanders or Ward and there is no guarantee either of them fall to 5 anyways so then they have to trade up which makes zero sense.

Maybe they feel like they can spend considerably less than $250M to get Lawrence's level of production - a bridge QB at a much cheaper price while they search for someone who actually has a competitive light bulb burning is not a crazy thought...

Also if the Jags put this out there it may be because they want to drum up a market...

That’s an interesting thought.

Lawrence equals Justin Herbert. Maybe lesser.

Definitely lesser.  He hasn't been in the best situation, but I don't think Lawrence has ever looked like a franchise QB.

If I needed a QB if reach out to the patriots about Joe Milton

I like him as a project and wanted the Bills to take a late round flyer on him last year.

To me, it depends on your situation. Milton doesn’t make a ton of sense for a “win now” team like Pittsburgh. He makes a ton of sense for a bad team without a QB like NOLA, LV, Cleveland, NY or NY. Those teams should throw a dart and hope to harness that talent.

that’s a real good question on what someone is going to pay for chance to develop Milton. I’m betting he goes this year to someone for a third

I understand what your saying but if they trade him they are taking on  a 100 million dollar dead cap this year, 80+ million next year and 60 + mill the year after that.

If anyone offers a 3rd round pick for Milton, they will be fired very soon.

He played in one game this year, against a team that had no desire to win the game.

If those are the actual numbers - then yes, it would make zero sense.

Really smart move by the Steelers. I just don’t think the jags would do it.

Thats my inclination too... but there is a new regime over there and I think it depends on how they see Lawrence... from the Steelers standpoint kicking those tires on a QB that has a lot of potential but has been less than successful recently and a new regime coming in... thats where I am starting If I were them... but in the end no I dont see that happening... especially in a year with no top level QBs "really" in theory...  interesting tid bit though...

Yea I went on OTC and clicked the trade option and I thought it was a mistake tbh. I couldn’t believe it. The Jags went all in on Lawrence

Milton definitely passed the eye test as a high upside kind of guy against us.  Never knew who he was before that game, but he’s got sick arm talent and the mobility needed in today’s game.
