For those who don't remember, the Destroyers were an Arena Football League team that played five seasons in Buffalo (1999-2003) before moving to Columbus. They were never that good. 6-8 was their best year.

But now two former Bills greats, Stevie Johnson and Fred Jackson, want to bring an Indoor Football League (IFL) franchise to Buffalo and revive that Destroyers name.

I've been to a few indoor games and I really can't get into it. It just doesn't feel like football to me. I'd rather see a UFL spring team in Buffalo. What do you think?

The 1932 NFL Championship game was played in Chicago at an indoors hockey rink because of a blizzard and sub-zero temps.

One rule change: because the filed extended right up to the stands the ball was placed at the hashmmark when a play went out of bounds instead on the out of bounds line. Previously teams needed to waste a down running a play to the center of the field because that was the only way to go.

Put the UFL team in Rochester and make all your butts drive east an hour once a week!

Buffalo is a great sports town but if they were going to add another team to the area then they should think big time like an MLB or NBA team if they could make it work financially. They would have an instant rivalry with the Blue Jays or Raptors if they could.

Had season tickets for the last 2 seasons.  Pretty inexpensive at the time.

Games were fun for sure.  Wasn’t as emotionally invested as with the Bills, but enjoyed them nonetheless.

Would welcome them back, not sure what type of draw they’d be. Back in the day season 1 was 12k avg attendance. Remaining years were 7-8k per game.

In the winter months, I'd much rather be inside watching a football game then being stuck outside with icy snow rain comes down like we see here today.

Seriously. A perfect use for that soccer stadium sitting empty.

This will never happen. Buffalo can't support any more major sports, especially one with no salary cap like MLB.

Even an NBA team. They could join the Sabres and share the arena like the Rangers and Knicks do. Again, I don't know if Buffalo could make it work financially being a small market but if they could I think it would be a success given the passionate fanbase in WNY.

I was in the process of typing out a long version of this when you posted. Cincinnati can't complete in MLB due to market size, and our Metro area + Dayton's metro has over 3 million people. Being a fan of a small-market baseball team sucks. You're essentially a developmental team for the big market clubs. In Cincinnati, we're all just enjoying Elly De La Cruz and anticipating his eventual trade to the Dodgers.

NBA players won't play in cold-weather small markets.

The Tampa Bay Rays have been pretty successful over the years, and they aren't known as a big spender like the Yankees, Mets, and Dodgers are.

Pirates were competitive and have some young studs coming up, and Im pretty sure the smallest payroll.  Nonetheless, I hope Paul Skenes ends up a Yankee hahahahaha

Even the Toronto Raptors have trouble getting and keeping top talent.

Successful? They draw some of the smallest crowds in MLB. They've only been competitive recently and they are about to leave town over the stadium situation.

Probably get more wins too.

We'll never know because the NBA isn't coming to Buffalo in a million years. Buffalo is fortunate to have 2 major league franchises being such a small market.

Getting back to the original topic, along with the Bills and Sabres, you also have Bandits indoor lacrosse and Bisons minor league baseball. There's a push to bring a USL-level 1 soccer team to Buffalo, along with building a new stadium downtown. How much money will be left for indoor football?
