Mike in Horseheads Posted February 13 Posted February 13 (edited) I see my good friend @BADOLBILZ has started the 2025 Yankees thread so heres a place for the other 29 teams fans. Go O's Edited Saturday at 10:06 PM by Mike in Horseheads 1 Quote
Mike in Horseheads Posted February 13 Author Posted February 13 Hey @muppy Bob Nightengale @BNightengale · 11m The San Diego Padres finally strike: Sign starter Nick Pivetta to a 4-year, $55 million backloaded contract. He’ll earn $4 million in 2025, $19 million in 2026, $14 million in 2027 and $18 million in 2028 per @JeffPassan . Quote
US Egg Posted February 13 Posted February 13 (edited) Would say the Padres choked last year if they played anyone else besides the Dodgers. Of course, the same can’t be said about the team that I dare not mention here. If Ohtani pitches are the Dodgers going to go with a 7 man rotation? But seriously, FanDuel so confident in Dodgers they’re only paying +195 if they win 110 games, +1160 for that other team. Edited February 13 by US Egg Quote

Padres are mess in ownership how that effects a good team is to be seen I guess Quote

muppy Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Go Padres 🙂 I will root for the local hometown team. This season I will finally have a vested interest in baseball. My hubby as a side job in retirement became an employee of the Padres for game days customer service. 6 hours each game day. He had to agree to participate in 75% or more home Padres games. And join some sort of Union too. He is doing it for a bit of side money but mostly fun. I really know nothing about current players. I DO have a really cool Tony Gywnn story 🙂 thanks for tagging me Mike. Quote

Your O’s have a shiny new owner but they’re starting to look like the Tim Murray Sabres. They’ve actively sabotaged Kjerstad, added no pitching, signed scrubs galore……WTF are they doing? Are they going to ruin Mayo next by playing him twice a week? They had a legitimate chance for long term success. It’s still there but they are blowing it. The Red Sox are coming fast. Quote
Bray Wyatt Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I am concerned the Braves didnt make any/enough moves. Strider coming back from injury, Acuna coming back from injury, losing Fried to FA, hoping Sale completes another full season, losing Morton. And other teams like the lolMets adding talent, and the Phillies still being tough. Big up hill battle. Quote
Ned Flanders Posted February 13 Posted February 13 That sound of the ball hitting the catcher's mitt in February is the most glorious sound of all...Go O's! 1 Quote
LabattBlue Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Not sure why since I hated the evil empire($$$) of the Yankees, but I like the success of the Dodgers. I like Roberts, Ohtani, Freeman, Betts, etc… PS I grew up a Cardinal fan, lost interest in baseball for a couple of decades, but just started following baseball again a few years ago. Quote

He the whiniest of the whiny. The other three guys are easy to like but the team is just buying everything. They have a billion home grown pitchers that they got injured so they went on a shopping spree. 1 Quote
Mike in Horseheads Posted Saturday at 09:38 PM Author Posted Saturday at 09:38 PM It was Orioles opening day in Sarasota! Lets just go with it's early yet. Quote
SinceThe70s Posted Saturday at 11:55 PM Posted Saturday at 11:55 PM Soto hits a HR in his first at bat as a Mutt. Ironically he also hit a HR in his first game with the Crankees last year. Quote

They are really imitating Tim Murray the way they’re handling their young prospects. Kjerstad n3ver even going to get a chance. Mayo is probably up next. They need another starter but it doesn’t look like they’ll get one. Quote

That guy has no clue on how to handle a pitching staff ... I thought the purpose of letting Santander walk was to open a spot for Kjerstad. They should trade Mountcastle to Seattle for a pitcher and open 1st for Mayo Edited 10 hours ago by Mike in Horseheads Quote
Mike in Horseheads Posted 10 hours ago Author Posted 10 hours ago Hey Mr Met @Gugny are you ever going to post in here about the Amazins? Quote

The 2025 Metropolitans remind me of the JP Allen-era Bills. Gonna score a lot of points ... but when the post season comes, other teams are probably gonna score more. I expect them to win over 90 games, enter the postseason as a Wild Card team and then ... who knows? It's all about who's healthy and who's hot and ain't no way to tell that as we sit here in February. Unless they're decimated with injuries, I do expect them to be a serious contender to get to the World Series. If they do get there, I hope they face the NY Strikeouts and their golden boy, Lurch .. the most anti-clutch player in MLB history. #LFGM 1 Quote
