Yep.  Edwards probably goes to FA next year.

I didnt realize he's only 27. Would be nice to keep him around. I have to imagine he is happy being in Buffalo, with his man Kromer, and with Josh. Would love to keep him.

If not, we also have SVGP waiting around in the wings.

I think that’s the idea. I see 6 of the 10 picks being Dline, Secondary even with a vet add or two

We currently have four open spots with Dawuane Smoot, Austin Johnson Quinton Jefferson and Jordan Phillips hitting free agency, likely five if Von Miller is released.

Near Locks for the Roster:

Ed Oliver

DaQuan Jones

DeWayne Carter

Greg Rousseau

AJ Epenesa

Solomon could be pushed off, but that depends on whether a free agent or draft pick outperforms him. His spot will be determined by his progress in 2024.

They’ll likely sign 2-3 free agents, leaving room for 1-2 draft picks to make the roster. It’s more likely Beane uses those 5th and 6th-round picks to move up in Round 2 or 4 for players he likes rather than cast a wide net at the same position.

I expect Smoot and Johnson to get 1 year offers from Beane, they were active most weeks and had some success.  I dont expect Phillips or Jefferson back.

I agree that 2 guys will get signed, and I expect a day 2 pick (at least one) to be used on d-line.

Alot of love for the condition of the Oline here....Well maybe we will be saying the same thing about the Dline over the next year.

Yup but Rousseau , Epenesa, and Jones are in the final year of their deal.

They kept 10 on the roster at DLine usually. They keep those 5 then drafting 3 guys and signing two isn’t out of the possibility to get your 10. If they trade for a proven guy that obviously changes but 3 DL and 3 DBs I could see especially if they plan on getting bigger up front and playing more man on the back end

Jones will be a waste of a spot....just as Star was. It's high time they learned to draft, teach and let play.

It took Beane a few years to get the OL right.  McGovern and Edwards were excellent FA signings and Brown and Torrence were great draft picks (keeping in mind that Brown took a few years to develop and move past his injuries).  Kromer, beach chairs and all, was a home-run coaching hire.

Now he needs to get it right on the DL.  I assume the issue is a combination of talent and coaching.  There's a new DL coach, so let's hope he can bring in some new talent to go with the new coach.  I think that Carter will be a good player.  He was starting to come on before he got injured.  A couple more guys need to be found via both the draft and FA.

He is not a lock to make this roster.  The Bills will save about 3.3 million if he is cut.  His pressure rate was terrible last year and if we bring in a better player (like Garrett or Crosby or ????) AJE will be gone.

I’m not sure why people don’t talk about the job Beane/Mcdermott and company have done building the OL for Allen. From Kromer  to the players. They have built so much stability on the OL. Next year this unit will be the obvious strength of the team. They should bully defenses.

All we talk about is WR failures. The offense is the best it’s ever been with Josh because of this OL. It should be even better next year.

Just as long as he promises to double check with the refs whenever he declares himself as eligible on a play. 😛

I hate everything about that process.

Yeah Cybo didn't prepare well enough last offseason and was a liability for the first month or so.   He's not lived up to second round guard status and it's by far the position on the line they could upgrade the easiest.  And David Edwards is entering his walk year(and is pretty young still so he might get a decent deal elsewhere if he shows out again).    NC State's Anthony Belton is a big RT type that some scouts think will make a very good guard.......that kind of versatility and potential would have to be considered if he is there early in round 4.

Thoughts on Grable to guard.  Grable is tall but his arms are an inch shorter than dawkins.  I sorta wanna see him on the field and guard seems easier to get time than tackle and I feel comfortable with RVD as a swing.

It’s a relief not to be talking about the OL for a change … it took them a few years but it is now a real strength of the team …

it’s all set for 2025 … I’m hoping guys like SPVG and Anderson can transition into starting roles on cheaper deals in the future to free up some cash …. But this can’t be at the cost of a decline in the level of play

Yep. The Raiders make a splash deal for MG and Ward, then Beane sends a 1,2 and AJE to them for Crosby.

Cleveland takes the hit but has picks to build with (2 1sts this year) and...

The Raiders get back some premium picks albeit a bit lower and we get a fair deal for Maxx.

We then sign Cam Heyward to a fair but short deal and draft 2 DTs and an Edge.  See what shakes out after June 1.

Great news.  No reason to even waste a late round draft pick on OL.  We are good to go!

I mean you always keep working on the O-line, maybe it should even include the D-Line?, that position group just seems like one you always have to keep working at or you'll find yourself in a serious whole fast.

The fault in that plan is that MG wants to win a SB … quickly I assume
