I feel like it's a spot where those risks generally don't pay off... Caleb Farley and Andrew Booth spring to mind... but he might just be worth the shot. Do you see any similarities between Ezeiruaku and, say, Jerry Hughes? Very similar size, though I think Ezeiruaku has slightly longer arms - Hughes looked a little thicker in old college tapes. Maybe Ezeiruaku has more pass rush moves than Hughes did coming into the league? 1 Quote

I’ll be interested to see how he measures because he doesn’t look or move like someone who weighs 320 pounds. Would be a big fan of him being drafted to be our 1tech. Absolutely. Him and Walker are physical specimens. Both of their issues is what most guys that size have a problem with; getting out leveraged. If they can learn to play with better pad level and use their size for their own leverage advantage, they could be seriously dominant. Anchoring their gap/s is a mostly a technique issue with men their size. Hopefully the coaching staff of Babich/Nielsen/West can make that a priority if they end up on this team. 2 Quote

Alfred Collins popped out to me watching casually during the end of the CFB season. He would be a fun fit, and I'd be thrilled with him at the end of the second round. 2 Quote

If you think about it, that’s been the main issue for this defense. Oliver flashes, but not that consistent. But if we had two super elite spacing eating monsters inside, that then probably solves our run defense issues, and on passing downs, it makes our average edge-setting ends much better, and covers up lack of talent in the secondary. I hope picks 1 and 2 are DTs. 2 1 Quote
Beast Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) I don’t see any way they waste a pick on a running back. They may already have the best trio in the league and I am betting Johnson comes back….then add Gore on the PS. They’ll sign an UDFA for that group. And I don’t want a guy with hip issues at CB. He seems to me like a guy you take because you think you have to take an end because you need an end. I don't see how lining up a 250 pound defensive end without dominant traits is a fit in this defense. I guess there are a lot of guys his size, I mean he is basically the same size as vonn miller. So what do I know. I just personally wasn't a fan of these three picks in the top 100. Good thing is it will change about a dozen times by the time of the draft. Yea I don't think he is worth #30.No way. 1 1 Quote

Although Jerry came out before I was getting stuck into trying to evaluate draft prospects so I might be unfairly comparing league vet Jerry Hughes with rookie prospect Ezeiruaku. Quote

turbo044 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 I don't like this at all as I think there will be be better lineman at #30. the (2) 2nd round picks I'm fine with but wasting picks (even if they're late picks) on non-need areas of P, RB, G and QB is a bit stupid. Take flyers on DL or WR there and see what hits. Is a RB really beating out any of our top 3? Is a guard making our team (Oline is stacked)? Same with QB and Punter. I do like the fact Beane has 10 picks to use or trade. 2 1 Quote
NORWOODS FOOT Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) I think I might be happy with Donovan Ezeiruaku in the first. Very talented guy, productive, and will rise with good workout numbers. But first I want to see his 10-yard split, broad jump, vertical, and bench press. That said, if we take him in the first, I’d be looking for a space eating DT the second. Someone like Collins from Texas. (But we are still early in the evaluation process - so I reserve the right to change my mind! Haha) Edited February 12 by NORWOODS FOOT Quote

Aussie Joe Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Anyone got any thoughts on Royals ? If he hasn’t got some speed ..then I’m flushing the idea …Apparently 4.40ish …. Quote

Pegues being the only DT we select would be pretty disappointing especially since the 4th is early for him imo. I agree, we're going to need alot more than Pegues in the 4th at DT. 1 Quote
KOKBILLS Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) No thank you on the undersized edge... He's a good player, but not at all what I think the Bills need right now. I like Royals. If the Bills like him that's about where they will have to take him because this is a weak WR Draft and the good ones are going to go fast. No way Morrison makes it to 62 unless the injury concerns are real, and if so, then I don't want him. If he's healthy that's a grand larceny-type steal in the late 2nd. The Bowman and Simon picks are OK... Overall I would not be thrilled with this Draft because of Ezeiruaku at the top... Edited February 12 by KOKBILLS 2 Quote

Pegues, DT, Ole Miss The pick at No. 130 — Billy Bowman Jr., S, Oklahoma Round 5 The pick at No. 171 (projected compensatory pick) — Cody Simon, LB Ohio State The pick at No. 174 (projected compensatory pick) — Jo’quavious “Woody” Marks, RB, USC Round 6 The pick at No. 177 — G/T Jack Nelson, Wisconsin The pick at No. 179 — Kurtis Rourke, QB, Indiana The pick at No. 206 — James Burnip, P, Alabama Here is what Dane Brugler had to say about Donovan Ezeiruaku Ezeiruaku is more “dip and rip” than “force player” as a pass rusher, because of his natural feel for depth points and the different ways he uses jab steps and cross-chops to soften the corner. He ranked top three in the FBS this season in both sacks (16.5) and tackles for loss (20.5). He can be overwhelmed at times versus the run but flashes the length to get into his opponent’s pads, lock out and stalemate the point of attack, especially on the move. Brugler on Jalen Royals Thanks in part to his basketball background, Royals has a controlled, fluid stride and natural body coordination to be a weapon before and after the catch (10 catches of 50-plus yards over the last two seasons, No. 1 in the FBS). His tape showed heavy helpings of screens, hitches and go routes, and he is still learning the nuances of route running, but he already showed improvements during Senior Bowl practices. Brugler on Benjamin Morrison Regardless of the coverage, Morrison has terrific foot quickness, body fluidity and technique to mirror early and regain phase late, which allows him make plays on the football without panic. He shows a natural feel in coverage and understands play indicators, although play-strength and durability concerns will follow him to the next level. As he's back from his second hip surgery, Morrison's medicals will be critical for his final grade. I have to say I am not exactly a fan of that being the top 3. I am sure it will change many many times before the draft. I don't know much about Donovan Ezeiruaku (yet) but I absolutely believe we need a pass rusher with our first pick, whether we use it in the draft, or in a trade. Personally, I am a big fan of Jack Sawyer, DE from Ohio State. I watched him in a few games this year, and he gave strong Aidan Hutchinson vibes. He seems like the kind of player that has a knack for making big plays. I see him currently rated as a late first, early second round guy. I have a gut feeling that he will be the real deal. Quote
