I’d like to see another good year out of cook. With Hollins gone and teams coming up with ways to game plan against the extra lineman.

We might be more of a throwing team than this last year.

Last years TD total is the reason cook wants money now otherwise he goes out and gets 3-6 TDs like that previous years his value is gone.

Cook was good but not breathtaking good. He is replaceable. Let him walk!

He was really good this year but 15 million after one really good year does not get you Derrick Henry or Johnathan Taylor money

Package him with 30 and move up in the draft.

This is the 2nd thread you've posted this in...Sooo.... you don't want him to pay him, but some other team will want to pay him AND give assets to do so?! Isn't this thought process based on RB being interchangeable? I've never understood why fan bases think like this. We don't want this, but someone else will and will pay us accordingly

He improved in some areas for sure. He went from being a fumble machine 2 years ago to losing zero fumbles last year. He went from a modest TD share to explode and be a TD machine.

Before I pay him I'd want to see if the fumble issue is fixed for good. Also, many of his TDs were from inside the 5-10 yard line. Is this something that Ray Davis or another cheaper back can take over?

If I'm Beane, I wanna see if he can come close to duplicating both of those areas this year before I break out the wallet. Maybe add some easy to obtain incentives to this year for him as a show of good faith.

He’s verging on breath takingly good. See that TD in the AFCCG. He just doesn’t hog the ball enough to be paid that way, I think. If he’s used properly—exactly how he’s used now with the Bills—then he can grow within his limitations and continue getting better. If he goes to some sorry team that wants to make him a three down back, he won’t last long. He’s already shown the willingness to take a pounding inside, but still stay smart about sidestepping out of bounds when needed. Hope he comes to his senses and accepts the Bills offer. And he’s no Gibbs, so he’s not cracking top 5 RB respect probably as a Bill.

Brought back Ty for 2 years. Ray Davis looked good. Lots of people saying this is the best Rb class in years.

Are we poised to trade Cook?

I’d prefer not to, but would be fine with including him in a package to get a top tier player

It’s tough to say. Some players are willing to bet on themselves but others are willing to take less money in case they get injured or have a bad season.

He may never have the chance to make $44M ever again. One ACL tear and he will be making $5M/year on one year deals for the rest of his career.

I’d take the money if it was me.

The thing is, it looks like the Bills are willing to let him play out his final year. Of course, they could be working behind the scenes to get it done. I hope they keep him past this year.

Guys who kept things inside got paid. What happens to the guy who decided to air his dirty laundry publicly right off the bat?

No one who was extended got above their market value, most far less. No one "got paid". They all left money on the table and traded it for cash now.

If you think Cook hasnt received a similar offer from Beane, you're delusional. I'm sure Beane has offered him the same type of team-friendly deal everyone else got.

It's more that Cook wants more than a "team-friendly but cash now" deal, and is fine playing another year that will either cause Buffalo's offer to increase or let him hit the open market where he will definitely get paid.

The idea that Beane is ignoring our 2nd best weapon on Offense, only behind the reigning league MVP, over a couple of social media posts is ridiculous.

But whatever makes you feel superior about it.

Probably not but the running backs we met with at the combine are all small/shifty types. I don’t think thats a coincidence.
