A RD3 pick being a moderate estimate of what Cook would go for in a player for pick trade.

I started a thread saying would you trade Cook to the Chiefs for their late 2nd round pick (63rd) and got a resounding no.  If we trade him for a third their may be riots.

We might not be able to get even a 3rd.

The problem is Running Back's have really low trade value. Players with only one season on their contract get really low trade value. And players who are angling for a massive new contract get really low trade value.

So a Running Back, on the last year of his deal, that is publicly angling for 15m per year? Unlikely we're going to get much. I wondered before - maybe that's part of the reason he and his people are doing this. It effectively destroys his trade value to a point where the return wouldn't be worth Beane moving him to another team over keeping him. Making it so that we either pay him what he wants or we let him hit an open market in Free Agency next year.

As long as we get TY back, he's just an insane pass catcher. So I hope cook doesn't mess this current backfield up

I want him back too, but Ty is going to test the market.  We will see what happens soon.

I understand reporting things, but Dunne really is working to get Beane Fired. Doug Whaley still casts a big shadow over this organization.

Cook is happy and excited bc he knows what it means for him. Any hope that we could meet halfway between what we want to pay and his asking price of 15m per just went flying out the window.

Honestly, I think it's way more likely that he asks for more than 15 now than it is he comes down from it.

The biggest issue is trading him to KC not the compensation.

Ot means his butt gets traded.  He isn't worth it.

Get this dude off our team.

I truly hope Beane is as annoyed by his constant chirping today as we are.

Wild how this man was a mute for most of his career and now he can’t stop talking.

If we don’t extend or trade him, can Cook just sit out the year and become a FA or would his fourth year essentially remain unvested (i.e. he’d still be Bills property)?

I understand that scenario probably isn’t likely but it makes a big difference to leverage in negotiations.

Edit: if I’m Cook there’s no way I’m stepping back on the field without a new deal. Way too much risk and like it or not his market value has to be very now. Like, he’d probably get 15M as crazy as that sounds.

I'm for a reasonable offer. He's VERY GOOD and I'd like to keep him. If he doesn't like it, trade his a$$ to Siberia (Titans for a 7th or a package trade with the Browns for all I care). 😉😇😁

money.

that's what it's all about. if he doesn't open his yapper, they won't know what he wants. business and he likely could care less where he plays. just pay me

That’s what an agent is for.

If he wants to strong arm his way to a massive RB contract, he should do exactly what he’s doing.

It shouldn’t be with us.   Hes not Chris Jones nor does he play on the DL.

That doesn’t seem like the type of player we want.. someone who’s focused entirely on money.

That used to be us.. not anymore with Josh Allen.

I understand he wants to be paid and no doubt he has talent but the turn off for me in the game is the money. again, I understand you need to get paid, and paid well. but well is never enough. it just keeps climbing and when one gets paid, the other expects to be in the same scale as well. showing out on social media about it, nah. not cool to me but, it is what it is and if beane wants to match their asking price, he stays, he doesn't. sayonara
