bills_fan Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Nick Brinkerhoff of USA TODAY is predicting Holland to the Bills. Quote Jevon Holland, S Prediction: Buffalo Bills The Bills appear destined for a life of coming close, but never getting over the top. Whether Holland wants that life remains to be seen, but he certainly fits into Buffalo's roster. The safety took a step back in 2024, but has been a key piece to the Dolphins defense during his years in Miami. Going from the warm climate to the cold could ultimately play a factor here, with the west coast native possibly heading home in free agency. However, there is no denying Buffalo's need for secondary help and they have seen plenty of Holland in recent history. It will take some cap maneuvering to make this deal happen, with the Bills entering the offseason about $12 million over the cap. However, it's clear that Buffalo needs change and they'll likely start restructuring deals to make that a reality. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/nfl-free-agency-predictions-where-110737101.html Interesting take. I do believe we will create a fair amount of cap room and do some extensions. But a difference maker in the secondary is needed. Rapp was good (esp in the game @ NYJ) but Bishop looked lost. And Hamlin plays safety too "safe" to ever make a difference. I know we need DL help, but S could use help also. And it never hurts to weaken the FIsh. Thoughts? 2 1 Quote
Aussie Joe Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Seemingly the author is making an educated guess on where Holland ends up, given the Bills safety limitations that have been on display this season …this take doesn’t seem to be based on any inside info he has heard … My take is he might command too much money for what the Bills want to pay for the position this offseason Edited 4 hours ago by Aussie Joe Quote
BillsFanForever19 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Feels like putting a 2nd Round Pick into a Safety last season and then signing the most expensive Safety on the market this season is a lot of resources put into that position group. But if they feel Cole Bishop needs another year after missing Training Camp last season (and looking overwhelmed as a Rookie) and the plan is to move on from Taylor Rapp after this year and have Cole Bishop replace him then - it could make some sense. We do need a replacement and upgrade from Damar Hamlin. Though Holland would be a lot of money and I'd definitely be prioritizing the starting replacements at WR and CB and upgrades at DE and 1T DT first. 2 Quote

But then I look at the impact Hamilton had in Baltimore and McKinney in GB and think...well maybe we could use one of those guys back there... Quote
Kirby Jackson Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I agree that Hamlin is a role player and Bishop looked lost. He may develop but they certainly can’t bank on it. I wanted McKinney last year in FA. I wish that would have happened. I like Holland. Nick Emmanwori is one of my draft crushes but I’m hoping to have that pick sent to Garrett. If he somehow made it to pick 56 you should run to the podium. Quote

Give him another off-season to learn from his experience and get in another camp/pre-season and I think he's gonna be a good player. 2 Quote
Success Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I thought Bishop looked really good at times. I think we can go w/ him & Rapp heading into the season. There are other areas that need more attention and money. 2 Quote
ColoradoBills Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Wouldn't mind a FS vet signing but I think that a 4 year $60M contract is a little steep. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/market-value/_/id/72416/jevon-holland 1 Quote

Malazan Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago He's an average player who wants to get paid and has struggled at times in Fangio's and Weaver's defenses. I have a hard time believing he'd be a 'difference maker' and would be one of the most hated players here given what he'll cost. 1 Quote

I don’t think that they can count on that though. If he develops, awesome. It should be a bonus. Quote

Early in his career I felt he was on his way to being a stud. Depends on cost. I’m all for it. Quote
GASabresIUFan Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Bishop will be fine. The secondary will look much better with a good consistent pass rush. If I were Beane, get Crosby or Garrett but make sure you keep the 2 2nds this year. Use those picks to add a CB and DT 1 Quote

Use those picks to add a CB and DT The secondary is not fine, Rasul is looking older and is not a good man corner and Kair will be gone. The defense desperately needs to upgrade at CB and also could use an upgrade in safety play as well. Rapp and Bishop play a similar style of play, the other safety needs to be the deeper safety who can cover lots of ground, instinctual with some ball skills. The Eagles Chiefs game showed that good cover defenders can force teams like the Chiefs off their first read, clearly the Bills biggest problem defensively was the coverage unit 1 Quote
Don Otreply Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I read a blurb about this speculation earlier today, we certainly could use help there, I don’t know much about him but it appears he is talented, we shall see…, Quote
ghostwriter Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I think Rapp and Bishop are nice pieces but I felt like Buffalo paid a heavy price for the absence of Poyer and Hyde at times. It would make a lot of sense to add a playmaker at safety. Quote
