What QB says they want to play with Hollywood Brown?🤨

DK Metcalf, Chase, Jefferson, Hill…..yes…..but Hollywood Brown???

Think back to last offseason. The Bills were in a tight cap situation and desperately needed help at WR. Brown was available and at a price that the Bills could afford. Allen had a lot of success with a lesser version of Hollywood Brown in John Brown. It should come as no surprise that Josh would voice to Beane & co. that we would be interested in playing with that skill set. He is/was a very good fit and affordable.

So the article is quoting Dan Graziano, who in turn is saying that unnamed people with the Chiefs are making this claim about what Allen has “long wanted”. Color me skeptical that the people Graziano talked to actually have good insight into what Allen wants.

So Josh Allen wants to play with a WR that has proven he can threaten the defense vertically? In other news, water is wet.

Explain this to Beane please.  It seems obvious to all but Beane.

“ A guy coming off a season long injury “

Is it gonna take most of another season to get this guy up to speed?   we’ve all seen this show before…,

I am not sure why I dont think this is exciting... maybe I wonder if its a locker room thing... like are we getting another Diva like Diggs here... or honestly I may just be mis remembering this guys persona... that said... you cant teach that kind of speed... if the dude has a fairly decent route tree and can stretch the field.. that is kina what you are looking for... like is he a true #1

No veteran WR is "super cheap". But as I was saying to Noggin, he's coming off of a year where he was injured in the offseason and on IR until Week 17 - under a 6.5m contract. I don't see any way he's signing to anything big or getting a raise from that 6.5. Likely less.

If KC is serious about keeping him,  they'll probably need to offer more than 1 year.

Meh

Exactly.  What is so great about a 5-9 Wideout who only catches about 60% of his targets and only averages about 11 yards a catch.  Players like this are a dime a dozen.

Meh. He isn't that good. No thanks.

We have 3 WRs on the roster and zero that can definitely start outside. We aren't in a position to say "no thanks" to any possible legit option.

I have been a pretty big proponent of not using lots of cap resources on a WR this off season but from what I saw he is expected to get a contract somewhere around $9m a year

You know I saw Spotrac projected him to get 2 years $16M and I'm a bit perplexed by that valuation. He got just 1 year $7M last year presumably because teams wanted to make sure he could stay healthy... and he answered that question by getting injured on the first play of preseason and missing almost the entire year. So now his value has gone up? I know the WR market is bad this year but that still doesn't add up for me. I'd think another 1 year prove it deal is all he would get right now.

and that is all he will get and probably for 5 mill or less.

I'm obviously all for that.  They can negotiate and see what he fetches.  The potential is there and he could potentially fill a need that this team would like to have.  His rate should be something somewhat affordable.   With that said, I do think he will be around that $8M range, his qualities are attractive and I think his contract will be comparable to what Samuels received.

I agree. There's always been this hype around him that is never substantiated. He was never much in Baltimore, went to AZ and flamed out, then injury year in KC.

Who cares if he is fast? What has he done with it at the NFL level?

I think Allen wants speed in the Wr room.  Whether that is Brown, or in the draft.  Id also keep an eye on Kirk if he released from Jacksonville.
