That is his strength. He is better pre-snap, better with protections at the line, a great leader, resilient and just the hardest worker you could meet by all accounts. Would he work on a worse team? Not to this extent, no. But I still think his knowledge of the game and mental resilience would make him serviceable. When he went to Oklahoma after the disappointment of losing his job to Tua in 'Bama and got better I thought he proved a lot to people. I liked Hurts more than most coming out as a result but even I am surprised he has gone on to be a top 10 Quarterback. Just shows if you are willing to work and prepare and can respond to adversity you can go further than it appears your talent can take you. Yeah but you forget that players can learn Gunner Hurts was well behind tua in terms of pre-snap identification and protections at Alabama.. certainly Oklahoma which has been good at developing quarterbacks for a long time helped him develop immensely And with his work ethic he has kept growing Quote

I think Lincoln Riley was good for him but that only mattered because of who Hurts is. His work ethic is incredibly impressive. Quote

Well that's the biggest thing for any NFL player The talent margin even from a seventh round pick to a first rounder isn't as big as some think in the NFL.. the margin is a lot smaller than the talent on the field when Alabama plays South Alabama lol A world class work ethic will reap plenty of rewards at the NFL level Edited 12 hours ago by Buffalo716 1 Quote
JakeFrommStateFarm Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) The real mvp was Jalen Carter who is unblockable one on one. He forced double teams on himself all game long which opened up one on one matchups for the rest of the D Line Edited 7 hours ago by JakeFrommStateFarm Quote

They were awesome. I came on here the other day and said the pass rush doesn’t matter if KC runs the short pass game like they did vs the Bills. Boy, was I wrong! Mahomes got so antsy from being hit, he was rushing passes with a clean pocket, which I know was rare in this game. it was the kind of game that pretty much ended Tony Eason’s career after the 85 Bears harassed him or Jared Goff’s performance for a couple years after the Patriots pummeled him. Mahomes seems to be a different breed who shouldn’t be affected by this game but who knows. Yeah, this was a team win, and I don't know if there was a guy who was all that much more valuable than anyone else. And Mahomes appeared off right from the first pass play when he threw behind Kelce with no pressure whatsoever. Quote
