MJS Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Ok, I like boobs as much as the next guy, but I sure didn't like them airing that commercial during the superbowl when my kids were watching, and there are kids all over the nation watching. I guess I am old fashioned, though... 4 1 7 5 6 9 4 1 Quote

yall Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I like boobs and I want to make sure people have access to preventative medicine including cancer screening. But with that being said, is there any one with a television who isn't aware of breast cancer? I don't really take exception to these ads, but I'm moderately offended by the notion that there isn't enough awareness. 2 2 4 1 Quote

They think if there is not a family history and they're young, they don't have to worry. Some don't have health insurance (although there are free screenings available in a number of areas) or they just don't want to be bothered. Additionally, I can tell you as a woman that the procedure is not very comfortable and in fact can be momentarily painful. I think...especially with the young Swiftie fans tuning in...it was a good opportunity to reach out to women to get screened regularly. 5 6 3 Quote

The issue with the Ad was not the topic....but choice of messaging. I'm not sure that objectifying breasts (which is what the Ad clearly was doing) is the appropriate delivery method. 2 4 4 3 Quote

I just take exception to the fact that the commercials always seem to imply that no one has ever heard of it. Like it's something we discovered over the weekend. It's just a bit of an offense to my sensibilities. I'm not advocating for less, just want to be clear about that. Quote
Malazan Posted February 10 Posted February 10 (edited) I wonder how many people complaining about the ad have had complaints about society being uptight around things like the commanders name change. Edited February 10 by Malazan 2 1 1 Quote

True, but we're all aware Bud sells beer and no one is complaining about those commercials. I'm less concerned about TV reminding us that 50% of our population is under-represented, under-valued and under-protected, than I am about it connecting kids and alcohol. 5 1 2 1 Quote
