Farewell to one of America's most skilled and original writers.

When you hit that dock, I hope you earned the ticket to the boat labeled "Hell" with all the rich food, music, margaritas and dancing girls. 🤙

The Froot Loops and batshit bomb.

A friend of mine turned me on to Still Life With Woodpecker back in the mid 1980s. Had to read all his other books after that.

I pulled one off the shelf last night (Skinny Legs and All) because I hadn't read him in quite a while.

My gawd, I had forgotten how brilliant and talented that man was.

I can't think of any writer in the history of this country that has ever produced more creative and thoughtful prose.

A genuine force of nature. :worthy:
