Kelly to Allen Posted February 21 Posted February 21 (edited) The good news is the draft is loaded on the dline. But can beane hit on the picks?? They have a chance to get 3 studs on the dline and that's not even counting free agency Edited February 21 by Kelly to Allen 1 Quote

If he's going to ever do it, this would be the year, with 50 DL in Brugler's top 100 prospects. If I'm Beane, I go DL for two of the first two picks, CB for the third pick (still in the second round), then secondary depth as the next priority. Resign Amari, let Cook play out his contract, extend Rousseau, Shakir, Benford, Bernard. In other words, keep your own and build through the draft. 1 1 1 1 Quote

Cool with all of that, but not big on extending Rousseau if the $25M/yr projections are correct. To make that much, you gotta have more than 5 sacks in 15 games and disrupt Mahomes far more often than he has rushing against their weak tackles. 1 1 Quote

What do you make of the point that he's had to rush from the defensive right side, not his strong suit, because they have Miller rushing from the left? If this is the case, it might be better at this point to put him back into his natural position and either let Miller go or serve as depth only. Also, it hasn't helped Rousseau to have Epenesa on the other side. Pair him with an explosive rusher and maybe we'll see more than 5 sacks a year from him. 2 Quote

After that, make a decision on his future. 1 Quote

I have to wonder if we need a change in our scouts? For all our (esp. My) ripping of McDermott it seems he gets that we need a change and is making coaching changes/ Adds to back that. So what's left? Beane MUST do better in his evaluation of talent and who he picks. We all saw what McClusky and BTJ did this year vs Coleman, that is a miss for me. He picked a bad DL who is no longer here vs a guy who became an all pro center. There are way too many instances of this. McDermott has always wanted pressure from the front 4 so he can do more on the back end, and it is a MUST this offseason. Ill just say it, another average to bad draft, and we need to re evaluate our GM position with this team. That said, I really hope he starts hitting, we all like him, but he needs to step up. I question if Pegula has his own advisors to properly grade both McDermott and beanie or is everything ignored because Allen carries them to the playoffs on his own with very little support talent and a bunch of no name assistants. 1 Quote

I dont think Terry cares. We make the playoffs and have Josh bringing in money. Quote

Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted Sunday at 10:39 PM Posted Sunday at 10:39 PM Read in an article the other day, last year the Bills made most of their cuts and restructures about 5 days prior to the "legal tampering" period, so this article thought around this Wednesday/Thursday may reasonable to see similar moves made by the team. 1 1 Quote

Buffalo_Stampede Posted Monday at 11:38 AM Posted Monday at 11:38 AM I think last year Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott learned that they can still compete for a Super Bowl even if they have huge dead cap amounts. They can still compete for a Super Bowl even when the roster isn’t as good due to cap restrictions. So I think it’s possible they say ok, let’s go for it for a couple years here. Sell off future assets, picks and cap space, to give it our best shot to win a Super Bowl. I think there are so many reasons for the Bills to go chips all in for 2025. I think it’s going to happen. Need a top WR still (Coleman COULD be it but can’t take that gamble). Quote
