Honestly, I'd be happy with Bolton from the Chiefs too. He can be burnt in coverage, but he's really solid against the run, which is something we can really use.

No way. The Bills don’t need anymore LBs especially because they run a base Nickel. Money needs to go towards premier positions. Milano, Bernard, Dorian with Joe Andreesen as a nice prospect are satisfactory. DE, DT, or CB only. Bolton is a very good player, but a complete luxury.

This, I'm more interested to see how someone plays when not surrounded by probowl caliber teammates. Anyone coming to Buffalo this off-season will have to be a one man wrecking crew while they transition their personnel to man coverage.

He's only had one year of double digit sacks. He's a good complimentary piece on a great dline. Bills fans would be disappointed in his production/compensation ratio.

Bolton addresses something the Bills lack. A run stopping LBer. A very good 2 down thumper that can step in and play in bad weather, against run heavy teams and in short yardage. He should be reasonable cost.

I like the 4 you mentioned BUT....Milano and Bernard are always candidates to miss time. Buffalo Joe is a good prospect but still a bit green and Dorian (who is my personal favorite LBer we have) still gets lost in the shuffle too much.

We may run a base nickel, but Taron misses time this year as well. Bolton give us the flexibility to run more 4-3 looks per down and distance and lighten his load as he ages.

Josh Sweat might be this year's Justin Tuck. I'd be careful paying him big.

This defense needs some attitude more than anything. Guys like Garrett and Hendrickson offer that in addition to being really good. My concern is the pushback from our beta coach on a guy with that kind of personality leading his defense.

Isn’t Rousseau better against the run?  To me, he’s a perfect complementary DE with a high level pass rusher on the other side.  On the other hand, $25 million?  Not going there.

I'm not paying a 4 year DE (Groot) who averages 6.2 sacks per year anything above 15M per.  I don't care how good he is against the run. At least Sweat has one double digit (11) sack year. Rousseau's ceiling is 8?

Looking at Sweat’s career stats versus Rousseau, they’re basically clones of each other. If Sweat is valued at $18M/yr, while Rousseau is valued at $25M/yr, I think it’s obvious who our Robin should be on the DL while we go get Batman.

+ Sweat has proven he can do it against the best

Josh Sweat earned a huge payday yesterday, not sure the Bills should be that team.  At the end of the day his production is not much different than Rousseau.  Just saying you have to consider the body of work vs one game.  We have seen SB standouts get overpaid in the past I bet that happens with him.

Want to avoid these guys that play their best games in the playoffs.

I’m pessimistic that we end up with either Garrett or Crosby (for starters, they’re not free agents and if they end up on the market, other teams could very well be positioned to make Cleveland or Las Vegas much better offers).

On the other hand, Josh Sweat and Milton Williams are free agents.  I could live with a front four of Sweat, Williams, Oliver and Rousseau and concentrate draft capital on the back end.  I could live with that even without adding a quality boundary WR.  Thoughts?

There’s no guarantee Crosby will be traded.  He seemed to be fine with Pete Carroll as head coach.  Who knows where Garrett will end but are speculating Philadelphia.  If the Bills want in on Garrett, they’ll have a shot.

Who is transitioning to man coverage? The Bills?

This is man defense misunderstanding is the new #1 wr talking point.

Another player that i have read isn't really happy with the communication in Cinci and only has 1 year left on his contract is Trey Hendrickson, he lead the NFL in sacks and will be wanting a new contract that looks as if the Bengals won't be able to give him . That & the fact he is 30 might work against him .

If the Bills could get him some how and get a couple years out of him for a decent contract number i would take it . What you think  ?

I don’t think he is on the bills radar but we now have his first defensive line coach on the staff.  He played really well for him in New Orleans .

Sweat should be a target if he hits the market.  Not sure Milton Williams is the type of DT we need

I would take just about any DT, at this point, so long as he is talented…it couldn’t be any more mediocre than Oliver and Jones…
