Anyone else feel the Bills would have given the Eagles a much better game?

We would have been similarly embarrassed. Philly's defense would have had Josh under duress all game, with our receivers blanketed and their offense would have eaten our defense alive.

We likely do slightly better but get gashed by Barkley with us being forced to cover for Benford's spot. I do however think Allen does better if only because we have far better tackles and at very least similar interior line strength. Doubt we win though in large part due to the D being Swiss cheese though.

We would have gotten stomped. Maybe not as badly, as I think Josh would have protected the ball better. But just as likely, the result would have been the same - or possibly even worse.

We'd have been rolling out Kaiir Elam again. There's no way, even with 2 weeks, that the NFL would have cleared Benford after taking two concussions in a week's time. Who knows if Rapp would have been ready or not either.

AJ Brown and Devonta Smith would have eaten us for lunch. And while our Offensive Line may have handled Phili's Defensive Line better (maybe), I doubt we'd have handled stopping Saquon Barkley as well as KC's D-Line and Linebackers did. Especially when we'd be trying to support the broken down Secondary in coverage.

The 2024 Eagles are the definition of a Super Bowl roster. Loaded at every spot. The 2024 Bills were an overachieving team, mostly due to the MVP play of Josh Allen, with a Roster in soft rebuild mode - dealing with injuries in the Secondary.

We couldn't handle the team that got mollywhopped by the Eagles. You're kidding yourself if you think we'd have stood a chance tonight.

Agreed.  Mahomes had his worst game of maybe of his career despite all the pressure.  A pick 6 and an INT inside your own 20 is inexcusable.  He had a QBR that's not legally allowed to watch R rated movies even with his garbage time TD's.  Allen would've performed better as we didn't have the jumbled offensive line where you have a guard playing tackle.  Our defense would've gotten gashed though and even shortening the game with running Cook and Allen on long sustained drives gives you pry get a 31-21 loss imo.

People underrated the Eagles all year pry because they ended so poor last year and started 2-2 this year with underwhelming wins.  They have a very good but not elite QB that many think you can't win a Super Bowl with anymore.  Plus, their sideline antics it seems every game was just strange so maybe people didn't take them as the powerhouse they actually were.  Howie Roseman is the best GM in the league and I think they're pry a tier above everyone else right now.  Their o-line and d-line talent is superb.  Their offensive weapons are superb.  All three levels of their defense are superb.  If they had a better head coach we could be talking 16-1/17-0 next year and I don't think that's an overreaction.

Being honest I thought the eagles were a very difficult matchup for the bills.  Who knows but I think they would have scored fairly easily so you would have to have the bills offense do better.  The eagles are stacked with talent and much of it is young talent on defense.  They have grabbed high end DTs recently in the draft and that is just the beginning.  The bills are not on that level talent wise and neither are the chiefs.

my daughter and her husband live in Philly and the consensus was absolutely the Bills would have given them a better game at least our offense would have . I go back to the Chiefs scored 30 points once all year . If they didn’t we are in the super bowl .

All depends on the game plans, who came up with big plays and who was healthy for us.

Predicting either way is meh.

The only way it plays out differently if it is the Bills is if they'd got ahead early. But the Eagles are built to front run. The moment the DeJean pick 6 happened it was over. You are not digging out of a 17-0 hole against that team.

But to be honest I think Buffalo would have lost too. That Philly roster is just too darn talented. I can't ever remember a Superbowl where I thought "that was so explicitly a General Manager victory". Although with a large side helping of Vic Fangio.

it was the eagles time. we may have scored  earlier and not have a shutout early. our defense is not a super bowl caliber

offense sells tickets...defense wins championships

Better game? Probably. The Ravens would have given them a better game as well. Our defense would have been shredded, though. I think we would have done better in TOP, but not sure how many points that would equate to.

if we had a little bit of our defensive back end healthy it would have been a 1-2 point spread and depending on how we played we would have had every chance to beat philly.

mahomes has legit dropped off really badly.  last year and this year.  he shreds our d because fat andy owns mcd's d (i think clappy just figured that out and that's why he's brought in all these new defensive coaches) and it's always a tight game -- when kc was winning their big regular season loss and their close playoff win always came against us.

philly has a sick roster, best next to baltimore IMO, but they are not as huge and physical.  allen would shred fangio, cook would run all over them.  philly has a better pass blocking line, but not as good in run blocking.  we'd run on their nickel.  on d i think we'd sell out to stop the run and hurts isn't a wizard, he'd have some mistakes and we'd capitalize.  we'd sell out to stop the run and philly would pass on us, but they'd make enough mistakes to give us a chance.

philly is the one team allen has never beaten and i think that would have super charged JA17.  we may well have lost that super bowl, but i say top level allen shows up after sneaking by the chiefs and he balls out like only he can.  kc lost because their o did absolutely nothing.  allen can make plays no one else can and he woulda done that.  If the game was done over and we were in it i'd have bet on the bills and i think we win an all time great game.

With Milano and Terrell Bernard, we may have done as well as the Chiefs in slowing down the Eagles run game.  But, our front four would have been outmatched by their O-line plus we lack both quality and depth at the CB and safety positions.  That should be the top priority this off season, along with depth in the D-line.

That Eagles defense would have eaten Joe Brady’s offense for lunch. Mahomes was under pressure all night, and the defensive backs played great as well. It wasn’t just great line play, the entire defense was phenomenal.

Of course the Bills would have fared significantly better than the Chiefs.

Bills O line are better at pass and run blocking.

Mahomes was uncharacteristically stepping into the rush and gave up sacks you wouldn’t expect him to make.

The Bills would have kept their defense honest with the ground game.

On the defensive side the Bills most likely would have gotten gashed.  It probably would have been a 33-27 sort of game.  The Eagles were built to beat the Chiefs.

I think the Bills could have made a game of it, but the Eagles D would not be denied, and we would have still lost be less.........better to watch KC get the absolute dog **** beat out of them on the national stage and sputter for answers on why they couldn't pull off the 3-peat.

For whatever reason Mahomes wasn't stepping up in the pocket or reacting to the pass rush until it was too late.  For sure Josh would have done a better job of that and completing more of those passes on the scramble.  That would have strained Philly's defense far more.

Not saying we would have won but our offense would have fared much better.

The Bills would’ve given them a better game, but I don’t think we would’ve won.  The Eagles were the best team on the field.  They deserved the Lombardy.  I’m happy for them and happy the Chiefs were basically embarrassed.  I can’t wait to. Listen to NFLR today.  Screw the Chiefs.  They lost by 20, but only because they scored garbage points at the end.
