Beane needs to really reevaluate his willingness to give our biggest rival the player they wanted. I know this has been hashed and re-hashed but it’s such a huge black eye for this organization. What is the silver lining here? He didn't look special when the game was on the line tonight. Again a horrific performance by the Bills defense against a KC team with a deeply flawed offense should not be the final measuring stick of whether or not Worthy is "special". Quote
scuba guy Posted yesterday at 03:30 AM Posted yesterday at 03:30 AM Wow op can't get off the line with a crap. Has to play behind it to get up speed and the real d not 2nd stringers held him in check. Quote

JBI$111 Posted yesterday at 03:31 AM Posted yesterday at 03:31 AM He's also made a lot of tough catches, he's been double teamed often and still makes catches, plays tough, hasn't really been hurt and looks quite legit in his first year. Our drafting decisions have been suspect for years. Same with McDermott's many coaching blunders. However, I'm glad the Chiefs got their ass kicked! Hate KC!!! 1 1 1 Quote

He could be a massive historic bust and it would STILL be a bad trade for the Bills. You don’t gift-wrap your archnemesis the player they desire!!!! You don’t give the team that routinely beats you in the playoffs, wha they want! You hang up when they call! Says every arm chair GM on his sofa. I know this particular trade has you vexed, but there’s no logic or reason behind your view. One, we swapped picks. Two, what we do with the picks is what matters. Three, had we “won” the trade, wouldn’t it be awesome to beat your arch enemies? If that’s the case, can you argue you always trade with archenemies? Of course you can’t. You trade with whomever offers you value. Your scouting department determines value. Best be right … Quote
Einstein Posted yesterday at 03:33 AM Posted yesterday at 03:33 AM (edited) *ringggg* *riiiiiinnnnggg* Beane: “Hello, Buffalo Bills draft room” Chiefs: “Oh, hey Brandon. It’s the Chiefs. You know, the team that has kept your club from the Super Bowl for the past half decade?” Beane: “What can I do ya for?” Chiefs: “Well, there is a player we want at your pick. Mind if we take him and hopefully make our ball club even better? As you know, we draft pretty well, so the pick is probably going to work out for us.” Beane: “Absolutely! That’s a great idea! Give me a couple minutes to do the paperwork and then you’ll be free to jump ahead of us and take the player you desire” Chiefs: “Wow, thanks Brandon. You’re pretty cool for a guy we beat all the time”. Beane: “Aww, shucks, thanks”. That’s how I like to imagine the conversation went. Edited yesterday at 03:35 AM by Einstein 1 4 Quote
appoo Posted yesterday at 03:33 AM Posted yesterday at 03:33 AM Also keep in mind Worthy is likely not going to be a different player than he is right now. He will never be able to consistently win against physical coverage, he’s not gonna get more jitter buggy. He won’t get faster. Keon Coleman on the other hand is just getting started. He will get better against physical coverage, he is going to get more explosive with a professional strength & condition and nutrition program. He’s going to be able play inside/outside, on and off the ball. If you’re mad at the bills not getting Worthy then you’re made at the Bills playing Khalil Shakir over Xavier Worthy 1 Quote

zow2 Posted yesterday at 03:35 AM Posted yesterday at 03:35 AM As i said in the other thread, the case is closed for now. Worthy > Keon. there’s no debate. hopefully 3 years from now we can say otherwise but for now, Keon is just not as good. 50/50 jump balls are not what QBs are throwing all that much anymore. Every coach and QB knows how crushing any interception is to chances of winning. 1 Quote

Neo Posted yesterday at 03:37 AM Posted yesterday at 03:37 AM For the old timers …. The Bills traded Mervin “The Magician” Briscoe to Miami. He won two Super Bowls there, catching more passes than Paul Warfield in one of them. Einstein’s dad is still furious. 1 Quote

HappyDays Posted yesterday at 03:37 AM Posted yesterday at 03:37 AM Sorry folks but nobody will know the outcome of that trade and the Coleman pick until two years from now. I'm not going to bother listing the litany of players, Bills and otherwise, who have siginificantly elevated their play in their 2nd and 3rd seasons. For all we know Worthy spends the rest of his rookie contract perpetually injured while Coleman turns into Eric Moulds. We just won't know for a couple years. Best thing Beane can do is keep investing in the position to protect against the very real possibility that Coleman doesn't get significantly better. 2 Quote
