Beck Water Posted yesterday at 05:53 AM Posted yesterday at 05:53 AM (edited) Soooooo that was thoroughly enjoyable to me as a Bills fan Watched with a friend who was also rooting for the Eagles We made "rules" early in the game that our puppy got a carrot (loves carrots) or other veg every time the Eagles scored and a piece of cheese or a cracker every time the Eagles sacked Mahomes or the Chiefs turned the ball over. By the end of the 1st half the pupper was looking a little uncomfortable. Too many treats! Never mind, some yogurt and a little walkie and she's all good now. My quick thoughts on the game: -The Eagles DL was like McDermott's Wet Dream of a D-line. That's how McDermott envisions his D to work: the DL brings pressure with 4 and forces the QB off his spot, then keeps up the pursuit. They kind of took their foot off the gas at the very end and KC got a couple "pride" scores, but eh. -It was so much fun watching Mahomes get engulfed by those green guys and watching Kelce and Hopkins miss catches that would have made a difference -KC did a great job limiting Barkley and bringing some pressure on Hurts, but in the end it didn't matter. -My word, did y'all catch Sirianni's "Dano, you can tongue my bean bags" press conference after the NFCCG? When I heard all his "I'm the best coach in the NFL" stuff, I felt FEAR that it would inspire the Chiefs. No worries fellas! Edited yesterday at 05:59 AM by Beck Water 1 Quote

We focused on WR and ended up with Coleman, but we’d be a better team if we took that dejean guy, who was very highly rated I wanted Dejean last year too. i didn’t say that we should only draft defense…. I said building the defense needs to be the focus. So many talking about how pass rush doesn’t even matter because Mahomes gets the ball out so fast- nonsense. If you have a beast pass rush and a proper scheme- you’ll get sacks and stops. Philly lucked into Mitchell and Dejean imo. Both should’ve been draft higher than they were. Howie was shrewd in trading up with a division.rival yo get Dejean. Landing Fangio was the icing on the cake.It took him 8 times to finally beat Mahomes, but he was a difference maker. Defense wins the SB- and so many just want to load up on O and add to the 2nd highest scoring offense in the league. 2 Quote

There were 2 DT’s selected in consecutive years and two rookie CB’s both who had strong games. The best player on the field was Josh Sweat - a former 4th round draft pick. Meanwhile, in the same time Buffalo drafted high round busts like Kaiir Elam and Boogie Basham who were frequent healthy scratches, average talent like AJ Epinesa, and a good but not great pass rusher in Greg Rosseau. Then you have rotational players like AJ Epinesa, DeWayne Carter, and Javon Solomon. The difference between the Buffalo and Philly defense was getting much better return on the draft capital spent on defense. In our defense, the eagles had many more picks then us and we're much higher. But your point still stands, they've done a tremendous job drafting and taking high risk blue chip players. 1 Quote

Casey D Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago The devastated look on Mahomes face as the game was ending was magnificent to behold. I hope this beat down is the beginning of the end of KC's reign of terror. Quote

May Day 10 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I thought Andy Reid ate too many cheeseburgers this time and pooped his pants all over the super bowl. Got out-coached. 3 rushing attempts in the first half, and 2 of them in a row near the end. Just kept trying the same ***** and watching mahomes ramming his head into a wall over and over 1 Quote
Bill from NYC Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I have watched Jalen Hurts since his first play of his first game at Alabama. He is a good, at times VERY good quarterback. When you put him behind a great OL and give him terrific receivers, he is a winner. The Eagles won this game primarily due to the excellence of both the OL and the DL. The OL gave Hurts the time to find his deep and excellent receiving corps and utilize his running skills. When DeVonta Smith is your #2 receiver, you have one sick roster. On one of the tush push plays, Landon Dickerson was three yards in front of the first down marker. They made it look easy. Their DL was fast and also VERY strong. If Josh Allen played on the Eagles it would be all but impossible for them to lose a game to any team under any circumstances because Josh Allen is GREAT. The Bills need to model their team after that of the Eagles. The NFL Champion Chiefs couldn't do a damn thing against the Eagles OL and DL except get pushed around and knocked on their a$$es. The Bills should go into this draft and free agency thinking about what they watched on tv yesterday. Their priorities need to be adding strength and speed to the DL, depth to the OL, and of course fast receivers. This is how the Eagles won with Jalen Hurts at QB. I hope that McDermott is able to see the obvious and resist wasting a first round pick on a defensive back. End of rant. 2 2 Quote

Van Demark played well against the Chiefs. Anderson is a fine 6OL. Grable passed Van Demark in their eyes. 1 Quote

Worthy has shown all the reasons teams were pretty critical of him this year also despite having a pretty good year if you’re just looking at the stat sheet. The guy is a useless run blocker and can’t really beat press. The eagles starters ate his lunch throw him on the bills and he’s mostly a non factor against kc and Baltimore imo hell I don’t think the chiefs even should’ve drafted him, they were in no position to make a luxury pick I'm tired of this "Worthy is so good" and "don't trade with the enemy" BS. The Bills needed a big WR not a smurf. Coleman fit what the Bills wanted and needed. He's not the first rookie WR who looked uninspiring but developed into a good player. Worthy is faster than Shakir but that's his only advantage. They're both small WRs, but Shakir totally fits the Bills offense. He's a better route runner, better blocker, and more sure-handed than Worthy. Shakir's also tough as nails. 9 hours ago, BillsFan130 said: Even mediocre is too kind. I'm so happy not just that KC lost but that Mahomes was so bad. I've been watching some of the build up stuff I avoided last week to hear people drooling all over Mahomes and talking about he's so much better than the other big 3 in the NFL, which is nuts. I wish he hadn't got those garbage time stats, would have been so funny to see him end up with 50 yards passing. Though I'm sure Chiefs fans will make excuses and say it wasn't Pat's fault, it was the O-line or whatever. 2 Quote

LabattBlue Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago (edited) Nice job by Andy to leave Mahomes in until the end and pad his otherwise “all-time SB bad” stats, by getting two garbage time TD’s. Edited 18 hours ago by LabattBlue 1 1 Quote
Bruffalo Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago That was embarrassing for Mahomes. Legacy tainting bad. One of the worst QB performances I've seen in a superbowl. Talk about not rising to an occasion. I effing' loved every second of it. Let's hope this is the beginning of the end of the Chiefs era. I'm not going to bother tying the Bills into it. The meltdown was so satisfying to watch. Quote
