Its hard to defend him the last few years, if your top drafting talent is James Cook, Kalil Shakir and Christian Benford you have failed, not to mention all the early draft picks on defense and fa money as well before that.

I think there’s an element to luck with all of this. 
 

Philly doubled down on the Georgia boys. There was a risk that Davis and Carter were troublemakers over realizing their talent. But it paid off.

Surrounding Carter with a lot of his old teammates made a lot of sense
