Thinking you can just score another 10 and that's going to fix not fixing the defense is no better an answer than saying we need to fix the defense. Sometimes answers are not easy and what you want to hear. Sometimes they are complicated and not what you want to hear. I don't know how they will do it. I could ramble on with my thoughts, but clearly it's the defense that NEEDS to get better. The offense essentially as good as you are going to get against SB worthy teams. You might as well say we need to get lucky because it's probably the same chances of scoring 40 a game in the playoffs against Spags. The truth is I just have zero faith the defense is going to be any better under this coaching staff, not without an unrealistic infusion of elite talent. I know mine is an unpopular opinion. I'm not of the mind that we are just one elite player away from forcing the Chiefs to punt more than twice against us. I admit I feel a bit ridiculous living in this mindset where I think we need a 40 PPG offense to win a Super Bowl, but deep down I really believe that's the only way. I respect your opinion though. It's where I was after the 13 seconds game. Since then my thinking has changed. 1 1 Quote

It salves my heart a bit Im not gonna lie. Seeing a team dismantle the chiefs is VERY satisfying They were carried here by officiating. Hopefully the league learns its lesson in propping up a paper tiger for a Super Bowl match. pathetic 2 2 Quote

They can’t run the ball and they’ve got a bunch of fast WRs that aren’t really complete players and the OL just can’t hold up long enough to give those guys time to find space. KC could replay this game 10 times and would probably lose every one 1 1 Quote

Belichick used to do the same thing, abusing the 0 blitz vs middling quarterbacks to great success. Quote

But we are ridiculously far away from fielding a defense like Philly's. Like 10 players away. I don't see any way that happens any time soon. The offense is close. We're 1-2 players away from closing the deal against KC in each of our past two playoff defeats. So that's my point. Not that we should ignore the defense entirely, but that the path to glory is still much easier to realize through offensive investments than defensive investments. The Eagles were the worst D in the league last year so a complete turnaround can be done. But the Eagles’ key acquisition was Fangio. Sure, a couple good players helped, especially Carter, but Fangio is the main difference. And has been alluded to already, it looks like we will see a philosophical shift on the D side of the ball. 1 1 Quote

Willyville Guy Posted yesterday at 02:40 AM Posted yesterday at 02:40 AM (edited) Happy for Hurts. I was impressed with how he handled himself in college when he was replaced with Tua at Bama. Class act, high character kid — I’m enjoying this for him. He would never hate-watch a super bowl with as much joy as I am right now lol Edited yesterday at 02:43 AM by Willyville Guy 1 1 Quote

Here’s my list. QB HC Slot CB I give IOL an advantage to Philly because Thuney is playing LT lol Doesn't mean the Eagles could have never lost because better coach and better QB is the ONLY combo that can give you a really good chance every week to beat better opponents elsewhere. But KC is getting blown off the ball because the Eagles better players are flat out outplaying them. Eagles have guys like Zack Baun starting at linebacker Wasn't even a full-time starting linebacker for 4 years in New Orleans... Signed on a one-year 3 million dollar contract.. before this season nobody would have thought Zack Baun could be the starting linebacker on a super bowl team Drue tranquill Nick Bolton was definitely considered stronger than nakobe dean and Zack Baun 5 months ago Tranquil has a 20 million deal... The eagles had players who stepped up.. nobody thought Zach Baun was all pro level for years.. he outplayed his contract They're not trotting out Ray Lewis.. they trotted out Zach Baun and nakobe dean Edited yesterday at 02:42 AM by Buffalo716 1 Quote

I think there’s an element to luck with all of this. Philly doubled down on the Georgia boys. There was a risk that Davis and Carter were troublemakers over realizing their talent. But it paid off. 1 Quote
