lol sure when there’s an all time great QB on the other sideline there’s nothing you can do as a coach right?  That’s totally the standard we apply to every coach on these boards 🤣

Josh was great but belichick got outcoached badly.  He had all the talent that these playoff defenses that have given us some trouble have and fell flat on his face.

i would entreat you to go back and watch that game

belichick got beat by allen point blank. he wasn't badly outcoached, allen was just killing his defense w off platform darts to well covered isaiah mckenzie. theres a reason he went to personally congratulate him afterwards

getting outcoached is when mahomes is ripping you apart throwing to wide open kareem hunt and xavier worthy

Funny how Tom Brady gives himself all the credit for that SB when the Bucs defense held Mahomes to 9 points.

we need allen to get better at reading the d like brady so our D can hold them to 9.

if our d could hold kc to 9 allen would have 5 rings.

Andy Reid had more talented teams in Philadelphia then Bill did in cleveland

Donovan McNabb was one of the best quarterbacks of the NFC in the 2000s.. easily good enough to win a super bowl.. those eagles teams were loaded.. but Reid and his team always came up short

Even Alex Smith took longer to develop but he was a number one overall pick who was a good quarterback.. not transcendent but Buffalo still would have been killing for a guy like Alex Smith before Josh and after Jim Kelly lol

Bill belichick also went to the playoffs with Mac Jones and won like 10 or 11 games with Matt Cassel

He also stopped the bills no huddle offense in the super bowl.. and he stopped the greatest show on turf.. until Andy Reid gets six super bowls he's not better than Bill belichick

He got fired from Philadelphia for always losing the big one

Bill belichick also has a winning record against Andy Reid

1989 the Browns make it to the AFC Championship game

1991 (2 years later with a lot of the same players and with Bernie Kosar as QB. A guy that Cleveland fans loved and had a lot of succes with) Bill Belichick takes over as head coach and has 4 losing seasons out of 5. Those teams were not that bad

When he took over in NE. He already had guys like Bledsoe, Willie McGinest, Ty Law, Ted Bruschi, Lawyer Malloy and he went 5-11 His first year. The next year (with Bledsoe) he starts 0-2. So, his first 18 games with the Patriots he was 5-13. Bledsoe got hurt, Brady came in and the rest is history. Here's stat for you on the The 08 Patriots which was the year after their 16-0 season and the year Brady went down in week 1. The Patriots went 11-5 that season. 9 of the 11 teams they beat that season had losing records. 2 of those wins were against the Bills twice. The only 2 teams with winning records they beat that year went no better than 9-7. That was the Jets once and the Cardinals in a blizzard in NE. Wanna know the funny part? 4 out of their 5 losses were against teams with WINNING records. They even got smashed the 8-8 Chargers. So let's put the two together. 9 out of 11 wins were to teams with losing records and their 2 wins were against teams that did no better than 9-7. The better teams they played with more than 9 wins they went 0-4 and then got blasted by the 8-8 Chargers. So, let's nit act like what he did that season was some sort of major accomplishment. And then of course is his career post Brady where he had one fluke season with Mac Jones where they started 7-3 and beat up on bad teams and had one win against the Bills in a tornado. And they went 3-4 after that and then got smoked by the Bills in the playoffs. Belichick has always been and will always be nothing without Brady. Brady took a Buccs team on a 12 year playoff drought to a Super Bowl and won it in his first year there. Belichick has failed every which way without Brady. Plain and simple. He is the most overrated head coach of all time and Andy Reid is far better

Nobody ever thought McNabb was that good

Because he wasnt

I mean he's not a transcendent player

But he's absolutely a good quarterback...Buffalo would have killed for a guy like Donovan McNabb

Six-time pro bowler when it actually meant something..

McNabb led the NFL twice in total offense per game (2005, 2006), led the NFL in total touchdowns per game (2002), and in 2008 held the NFL record for lowest career interception percentage (2.09%, now surpassed). He is the Eagles' franchise leader in passing yards, passing touchdowns, attempts, and completions

In 2004, became the first player in NFL history to finish a season with 30+ TD passes and fewer than 10 INTs

He was top five in rushing yards for qbs

eagles wall of fame.. eagles number retired...

He was a good quarterback even if he didn't play his best in the postseason

Yout can take McNabb out of the equation. Andy Reid went 50-26 with Alex Smith and had 4 playoff years and out 5 years with him. I think we can all agree that is an accomplishment. On the flip side Belichick had Kosar who was good, Testaverde and Bledsoe who was good/decent before Brady and did nothing with them. Alex Smith wasn't much better than all 3 of those guys and Andy Reid got everything he could out of him

So you're saying Mahomes knows what every team is doing on defense?

Mahomes is ahead of Allen in this area. Most here would disagree so it is what it is.

And of course, he's 100% correct.

From time to time I go back to that 1 on 1 interview of Peyton and Ray Lewis just to hear how cerebral they both were in their approach.  Peyton brings up a 3rd down from a playoff game vs the Ravens 18 years ago!  He's naming the defensive players and what he saw across the line of scrimmage and Ray knows the exact play he's talking about, upset that they had a tell that tipped Manning off on the coverage.

Those kinds of guys were on another level and it showed.

He does need to get better at that, but he'll never be as good at it as Joe Burrow or Tom Brady. I don't know where Brady go that, but Joe Burrow's dad was the DC for Ohio University. He was reading coverages and diagnosing blitzes from his high chair whilst throwing cheerios.

Good point. I was also thinking maybe Allen is so athletically gifted he relied more on his athleticism early on.

Went to the playoffs with mac then his top 5 defense had probably the most embarrassing playoff performance we’ve ever seen to be fair lol I think that pats team was a net negative on bill’s legacy if anything

that’s as unprepared of a defense as ive ever seen come playoff time.  Daboll humiliated him.

hate to break it to you..nobody is talking about that game in anyway as a negative toward BB Legacy, honestly not hearing anyone bring up that game that often.

It's 1 game compare to BB defenses for 2 decades.

Not even adding the ones that help the Giants win a SB.

Tom Brady won 3 championships in his first 5 seasons.

Yeah but I attribute those to exactly what Brady said. In those early years he knew exactly what the defense was gonna do because he was told what to look for when given the play due to cheating

Then as he gained more and more years in the league, he learned how to through intense study

People keep bringing up Alex Smith like he's a bum lol he was the first overall pick

Played on not good San Francisco teams the first four years of his career.. very little receiving talent.. didn't even have a lot of receiving talent first couple years in Kansas City

Like Sam darnold had a career resurgence this year.. and Alex Smith is 20 times the quarterback... People act like he's JP losman

Patrick mahomes sitting behind that man is part of the reason he's so good lol sitting behind an established vet and learning is gold

It always has been always will be.. but if he was such a bum he would have been forced to play Kermit the frog... Somebody who's been anointed baby goat

Alex Smith kept him off the field for a year

Andy Reid is getting circles coached around his entire staff right now

Yes. The talent isn't there and outside of Allen and a couple others, beanes drafts have not been good especially on the DL.

I would have to agree... and now he has a chance to fix some of it by drafting well and finding a way to bring in Garrett.

Andy Reid just got out coached all night lol

Bernie kosar isn't even Alex Smith level .. Reid got 27-year-old Alex Smith not 21-year-old Smith

Bill belichick game plan stopped the bills greatest offense in NFL history.. and the greatest show on turf

And he never got his ass kicked in the super bowl ... Belichick coached in 9 super bowls as a head coach... Never lost by more than eight

Andy Reid just got out game planned out coached and whooped like belichick never did in a super bowl

If the bills just got their ass whooped this bad in the super bowl.. the McDermott hating would be unreal rn
