Roundybout Posted yesterday at 02:34 PM Posted yesterday at 02:34 PM (edited) Earlier this week, Scott Bessent halted CFPB activities, and now all new funding to the agency is being halted per Russell Vought. https://www.politico.com/news/2025/02/09/vought-cuts-off-cfpb-funding-00203261 This has confused even some MAGA voters who have stated that the CFPB is a beneficial organization that’s put a lot of money back in people’s pockets. This includes MAGA writer Lee Fang of Twitter Files fame. In 2024, SCOTUS ruled 7-2 that the CFPB was absolutely Constitutional, with Clarence Thomas writing the majority opinion. https://www.ncsl.org/state-legislatures-news/details/supreme-court-affirms-constitutionality-of-cfpb-funding Then, why are many MAGAs so against it? One major name against the CFPB is Brian Armstrong, founder of CoinBase who has been cited by CFPB many times for scamming his customers and locking them out of their accounts or dropping hidden fees on them. If it’s been ruled constitutional, and if it benefits American consumers overwhelmingly, why are MAGAs hell-bent on killing it? I look forward to a rational, reasonable discussion. Joe Ferguson forever Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago With every one of these actions, people need to ask themselves "who wins?". Follow the money...For most of us, the answer is not "me". It's becoming blatantly obvious that much of the nation is comprised of imbeciles incapable of reason. oh, and btw, the guy enacting this little jewel of policy is an author of project 2025. the project trump said he had never heard of. 1

Which “MAGAs” are hell-bent on killing it and how do they relate to the general population that voted for Trump? Is it your contention that all Trump voters march in lockstep? Is that what Biden supporters did? Seemingly. I imagine there’s a great many people that voted for Trump that disagree with this. Here’s your chance to be rational and reasonable. Your fellow ideologue went directly to Project 2025 as part of his rational and reasonable response. You should call him out.

I thought my write-up was quite clear - Elon, Bessent and Vought. As I’ve heard quite often, both on here and in conservative media, MAGA voters are getting “exactly what they voted for.” Elections have consequences and if you voted for Trump/Elon, this is what you get. Do you disagree with this action to remove CFPB? 1
4th&long Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I laugh at these idiots that voted for Trump. What did they think would happen? He's not even a month in yet! The ship is going down already. 1

Do you disagree with this action to remove CFPB? Why don’t you just refer to the people you are concerned with rather than the all-encompassing MAGA that people like you use as a pejorative? I disagree with deep-sixing CFPB but am not apoplectic over it. There will always be things to disagree with coming out of Washington regardless of the party in charge. For instance, many people are vehemently disagreeing with putting government spending under scrutiny. How odd is that? We’ll see how things develop. I understand that’s not as emotionally satisfying as taking a knee-jerk reaction.
BillsFanNC Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago If you aren't in lockstep with the dem party or you indicate that you might agree with something the orange menace has done, is doing or says that he plans to do? You're MAGA. 1

I have a distrust of the creeps that have been running Washington for decades. They all seem to come out of it rather wealthy, don’t they? That others are so terrified of added scrutiny tells me all I need to know. I wish I could say it’s surprising. When one side gets all the power they usually piss it away quickly. It’s the expectation. I like the idea of striking while the iron is hot.

If they didn't remove millions of Lebanese to make iresorts, might go.

Maybe instead of building MAGA-ZA he can move all of the Lebanese people there into MAGA-ZA. Or maybe put them somewhere else and have MAGA-ZA north. Or Trump Beirut. They all have such nice rings to them. 2

Impressed by your deep thinking. I wish we could always have democrats in charge. They only care about us and aren’t interested in enriching themselves.
