ExiledInIllinois Posted February 8 Posted February 8 "Dick Jauron, a Peoria native and the head coach of the #Bears from 1999 through 2003, has passed away. He was 74. The NFL's Coach of the Year in 2001, he also was a HC for the #Bills. Jauron played safety in the league and was a legend at Yale." 😔 2 1 40 1 5 1 Quote

C.Biscuit97 Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I was probably his number 1 defender and his teams played some awful football to watch. But read those rosters he had and it’s absolutely amazing they would win 7 games. I fully believe he would be a SB winning coach if he ever had Allen. Great guy and prayers to his family. RIP Coach. 15 4 Quote
KCNC Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Always liked the guy even though no great records with the Bills. My college roommate, Charlie Coiner, coached under him with the Bears and the Bills. Never got to meet him but Charlie told me he was a great guy. He spent many of his last years caring for his wife, who had long term dementia. 9 Quote
Dave_Bills Posted February 8 Posted February 8 So sad. I know we didn’t like him as a coach but what a wonderful human being. RIP 4 1 Quote

I don’t quite get the hate for him. Those teams were devoid of talent. 4 4 3 Quote
WotAGuy Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Very sad news; especially given his “young” age and reports about his wife’s dementia. May he rest in peace, sounds like he earned it. 1 1 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I think it was his coaching style more than the person that was disliked here. A good player in his time, steady coach and great human being. 1 2 Quote
ganesh Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Sad News. RIP. Handled his job with grace...as another poster mentioned - the team was devoid of talent. 1 Quote
ChevyVanMiller Posted February 8 Posted February 8 RIP Coach. He was never my favorite coach, but you could always tell he was a top-notch human being. 1 Quote
Brianmoorman4jesus Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Rip. All I ever heard was how nice of a guy he was. He was a really good defensive mind. Very sad. Quote
