We'll see who has the last laugh, but there are laws in place for government contractors and conflicts of interest. I'm all for free markets, but Musk isn't the only game in town, and he's benefited from Lady Liberty long enough. Musk shouldn't be anywhere near our digital infrastructure. Given that Trump relied heavily on Musk, and that Musk was endorsed by Medvedev and Putin, it's reasonable to assert that Musk is a Russian proxy based on this logic alone.

Just out of curiosity because of my own ignorance, who is Musk competing with regarding starlink and space travel?

There is really no one/nearly as advanced as either.

LMGTFY:

SpaceX's biggest competitors include Blue Origin, United Launch Alliance (ULA), Rocket Lab, and Arianespace.

Blue Origin

Founded by Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon

Developing a rocket with similar capabilities to SpaceX's fleet, but with cleaner-burning engines

United Launch Alliance (ULA)

A joint venture between Boeing and Lockheed Martin

Developed the Vulcan rocket, which has similar capabilities and costs to SpaceX's Falcon Heavy

Rocket Lab

One of the world's most prominent space companies, behind only SpaceX in the number of commercial rocket launches

Developing the Neutron rocket, which is expected to be launched in mid-2025

Arianespace

A company with strong ties to its government and established history in the industry

Other competitors

Virgin Galactic, which focuses on the suborbital tourism industry

Nyx, a competitor to SpaceX Dragon

I'm all for Trump and Musk but I think in that photo, he sorta looks like Gene Simmons with short hair.

Who else is going to get the two people who have been on the ISS since the fall due to Boeing's incompetence? Isn't the "rescue" mission going up in a few weeks.?

The USPS is wildly successful when you think about it for more than 0.5 seconds.

It’s a service. It’s not meant to make money.

If you want to save it some money, stop making it guarantee pensions for all new hires.

Let's find out. With Musk gutting services and federeal jobs, people are going to wonder why everything he does benefits people like him, not you.

I understand that but isn't almost 10 billion dollars a bit alarming?
