Even with our basically JAG group of wide receivers, we averaged 30.9 ppg.  we led the league in turnover margin, but were often not able to get off the field against quality offenses.  I would say DE/ 1 Tech, LB [not sure how much Cookie has left]. CB [Douglas fell off sharply], S [Hopefully Bishop will improve, but Hamlin/Rapp are JAG's].

I am starting to think this as well. This defense can survive if we get Allen that ONE weapon he has never had. Diggs was pretty good for 2 years but not next level.

Yeah

the people who just want to run this offense back are in for some real disappointment imo

Has to be defense, and it pains me to say that. We desperately need a number 1 receiver. Beane/McDermott have failed at developing this defense. Litterally the only position on defense Im confident in at this point is linebacker. Safety is a big question, d line is 🤮, corner backs are a B- at this point. It's actually kinda sad how this defense isn't way better than it is

if we got mack on a better value contract to fill in for the occasional pass rusher role and traded for garrett the d line would be completely shocking.  i'd be comfortable keeping who we have for the rest of it and just filling in gaps w rookies and i'd be confident we'd cruise to a top 5 D

Yea I don't think overall it is as few as you think but it is non-existant for guys coming off their rookie deals. The guys who will take a little less for one year to chase a ring and then dip into FA again are without exception guys who are coming off their 2nd contract (or sometimes 3rd or 4th) or who have been cut by their team for being too expensive (which generally means they have already banked a very healthy signing bonus). Tee Higgins has already been essentially forced to take a 1 year deal playing on the tag in 2024. He will take whoever puts the most guaranteed money on the table in free agency. Not necessarily the highest AAV (although they'd have to be close) but the biggest guaranteed number.

Let’s get ‘em then right. Get me names!!

Who fits this bill. A Bills locker room guy that’s into his career, thirsty to win, and is an improvement in what we got?

And I could live with that. I'd prefer Maxx because it would be less expensive in cap and draft picks. There's no way we're signing Cooper or Higgins if Myles or Maxx are the targets.  We'll probably have to draft a wr and hope you can develop them with Shakir, Coleman,  Samuel & Hollins. Maybe an udfa wr pops?  Drafting 2 strong DT's will be mandatory.

I’m turning towards Garrett at all costs over Crosby. I consider Josh’s timeline. Needs to happen right now, and every year after that. Too many misses so far.

Garrett > Crosby next year because he is on another level and will be for his entire contract with the Bills perhaps. I prefer Garrett’s body over Crosby’s right now, age difference already factored in. I’d take the talent over the extra draft picks you save on Crosby.

I believe this management team will try to do something big.  They have the track record in making all the moves to go get Josh, the trade for Diggs, and the signing of Von Miller, even though that didn’t work out.

Both 2025 2nds and Dalton Kincaid for Maxx Crosby and Michael Mayer.

2025 1st Rounders and 2026 1st or 2nd for Garrett?

That would take Allen, Von, Oliver, Knox, Milano, Daquan Jones all to restructure their deals.

If you could add one blue chip player/position to this team in FA, just one, who/what would help Josh Allen the most?

Would it be DE, WR, DB or S?

If it is going to take multiple 1st rounders (at least) to get Miles, what would it take to get a top 5 guy in the league at the other positions? Maybe they should be targeting these other players as they MAY have an even bigger impact.

I loves Miles and Maxx but Mahomes does get rid of the ball in lightning speed and maybe there are other ways to skin the cat. I am starting to think that they need to target Safety or Corner in FA and draft DT in first round. Buffalo absolutely HAS to go all-in this year and probably have money in FA to go after one.

Tee Higgins (WR)

Jevon Holland (S)

Miles Garrett or Maxx Crosby (DE) - Trade

DJ Reed (CB)

Blue chip DE and/or CB. Either one of those positions could bolster the heck out of the Bills D. WR is not a need to me. I trust a fully healed Amari Cooper with a full offseason and 2nd year Keon Coleman who showed pretty insane flashes last year, he just lacked the consistency like most rookies. Holland would be a neat acquisition, but Rapp had a solid season. People already writing off Bishop like they did Terrell Bernard. Just wait…

If Amari Cooper’s engagement in the offense is what we saw, a veteran minimum player could give you that.

And I wouldn’t bank on anything Keon Coleman. I really hope Beane can be honest with himself and make WR moves as if Coleman wasn’t here.

We need to hear how all offseason he worked with track sprinters to improve his burst and long speed.

He was a useless player by the end of the season because the only route the Bills coaching staff could think of for him was a low percentage fade where Allen had to keep it high and away so it wouldn’t be picked off.

And Bishop? Well let’s just say Kincaid telling everyone that he was the guy who locked him up in practice isn’t really worth a whole lot because anybody can lock Dalton Kincaid up.

I’m with you on Kincaid. He sucks, but I think Coop, Bishop, and Keon could all ball out next year. Especially Cooper. First of all, he was injured. Second he came here during a mid season trade. Give a guy at least one training camp before writing him off. Keon was a rookie, Bishop was a rookie. Guys need to DEVELOP

But at what cost?

Spotrac has his market value at 2-years, $28M.

His previous deal was 5-years, $100M.

Those days are long gone.

Most definitely!!! The league is ever evolving the offense must too. We have a pretty decent offensive line for once compliment it properly. Don't worry defense we know the defense needs a serious changeover too
