If you could add one blue chip player/position to this team in FA, just one, who/what would help Josh Allen the most?

Would it be DE, WR, DB or S?

If it is going to take multiple 1st rounders (at least) to get Miles, what would it take to get a top 5 guy in the league at the other positions? Maybe they should be targeting these other players as they MAY have an even bigger impact.

I loves Miles and Maxx but Mahomes does get rid of the ball in lightning speed and maybe there are other ways to skin the cat. I am starting to think that they need to target Safety or Corner in FA and draft DT in first round. Buffalo absolutely HAS to go all-in this year and probably have money in FA to go after one.

Tee Higgins (WR)

Jevon Holland (S)

Miles Garrett or Maxx Crosby (DE) - Trade

DJ Reed (CB)

We might be able to get 1 but all 4 is a pipe dream due to cap constraints and needing to use cap room on keeping most of our guys around.  I think signing a veteran CB to pair with Benford (doesn't have to be Reed). I'd love Garrett or Crosby but not sure of picks it cost but if it's 2 firsts and a mid round pick am okay with it. Yet need to shore up D-line depth and secondary depth in the draft.

A monster DE that can beat the ridiculously blatant holds teams get away with in the playoffs.  Playoff football is honestly ridiculous…the chiefs only real weakness is completely negated because they don’t want to flag OL holding

There's one answer:

Myles Garrett.

/Thread.

Maxx Crosby is only 27 years old and may be more realistic (if he wants to leave.) Add a DT in the first round and this whole defense could change instantly.

He recently said he likes the direction of Pete Carroll and Tom Brady have laid out for the Raiders

I like Crosby. I would be happy to acquire him.

The question posited was "what puts Buffalo over the top", and to me, Garrett is the only answer.

Crosby would be a nice addition. As would DJ Reed. As would Tee Higgins or (insert free agent you like here).

But putting them OVER THE TOP?

To me, that's a game wrecker. And the only game wrecker I see realistically available (albeit via trade rather than free agency) is Myles Garrett. He is on a Hall of Fame trajectory, and is smack dab in the middle of his prime (unlike the last pass rusher we paid a premium price to add to the roster). While other additions would improve this roster, Garrett would TRANSFORM it.

IMO, we have a much better chance of beating the Chiefs if we had an excellent pash-rusher at DE or DT. They don't have to be at the Crosby, Garrett or Jones level, but someone that needs constant double-team. I'm a huge supporter of Groot but like most very good DL, he's a step or two away from that level of play.

All 4 CAN be done depending on how much Terry wants to pay in Signing Bonuses.  I would ask him "How good would it be to open the new stadium by hanging a Super Bowl Banner?"

I am starting to think this as well. This defense can survive if we get Allen that ONE weapon he has never had. Diggs was pretty good for 2 years but not next level.

You think we would trade for Crosby AND draft a DT in rd 1?  🤷🏻‍♂️ not possible imo.

Easy answer is Myles Garrett

WR would help but not sure who that is...would have to be via trade as I dont see it in FA.

I think a dominant safety would also boost this defense.

I would love to find a way to acquire Garrett. Then make some smart acquisitions at S and CB who fit the scheme and do not necessarily break the bank -- McD has shown that he can get a great deal out of guys like this.

I wish it was only one, but we need at least two more difference makers.  Cripes, the Eagles may win the SB and they have two rookie CBs.

A dominant DL either through the draft or FA.  Then a standout LB or DB.  It'll be difficult.

I actually think Cooper is a legit boundary WR but I'm not sure Brady can scheme him open.  We definitely need the wide receiver we thought we drafted last year.
