Beane has some Capital to work with for trade ups or a blockbuster trade for a current player. Either way we should be improved next year if Beane does a good job.

Round 1

Round 2

Round 2: from Houston in Stefon Diggs trade

Round 4

Round 4: from Chicago

Round 6

Round 6: from Cleveland in Amari Cooper trade

Round 6: from New York Giants

I think that is exactly what happened... I know we are being mentioned for a 3 or 4 comp pick, but I do not believe we have a 3 this year.

It's only 1 more pick than the usual 7. My question: is there someone worth trading up for?

We don't have a 3rd round pick this year and will likely get an additional 2 5th round compensatory picks.

I forgot about that. When are those announced?

We know Garrette and Cooper Kupp are on the trading block but an interesting name out there that could be available for the right price is Clevelands Denzel Ward CB. Id be very happy with that for maybe a 2nd?

When do those get awarded? Cant find any info about them.

Last year they were released March 11th.

I imagine they’ll come out again right around the start of the new league year.

What do you think we will get?

i like it. Maybe move up to the 4th or 3rd if we package those plus a little more.

Yeah they’re not very valuable in terms of trade capital. I think if you packaged them together, you might be able to get up into the back end of the 4th if you threw in one of the 6ths.

Depending on how the board shakes out and what they do in free agency, you may want the volume of selections vs. putting three resources into a single selection. Hard to know.

I think the more likely use for these (aside from picking a player) if you package them to move up earlier in other rounds. For example you might package #56 with one of the 5ths to get up to the 53rd pick. Beane has been know to target “his guys” and make the move to go get them if there are other teams to play ball.

We currently have 10 picks. There is just no way they make all 10 of those. There isn’t that many roster spaces to be filled. This is why I think you’ll see them identify who they want early on, and use those later round assets to try and move up to be sure to land them.

I'm hoping Beane can work another, this year's 5th for a next year's 4th, like the Bears trade last year.

I hope he doesn’t try to get to cute with trade ups. His past history is a little shaky when it comes to moving up to select his player.

Not sure why we would only get two fifths instead of at least a third for losing Floyd! We always get shorted when it comes to comp picks.

I would absolutely throw Cleveland one of our 2nds for him. That move alone would be huge and allow us to fill other holes much easier.
