Allen wins MVP

I love how they had Allen front and center with Hailee but just realized they had him sitting with John Hamm also.  Definitely starting to think that Hollywood might be calling at some point.

Josh didn’t go one year but that was because he was completely left off the finalist list.  Lamar was 1st team All-Pro and very nearly won.  Just a bad look unless he had a good reason not to be there.  It’s like he already knew.

Voters made the right decision, offense quality is simply not comparable to what Lamar and Saquan had.  Those guys were the best players on INCREDIBLE rosters, whereas Josh is the best player on a very good roster.

 

The Burrow argument makes me laugh from some people.  Burrow was an efficient volume thrower this year - he had 70 more pass attempts in the 4th quarter than Josh did, because he team was so consistently down. He had 652 total attempts compared to Josh's 483, that's roughly 4-5 more games worth. Project Allen's stats at Burrow's throw rate and he has over 5,000 passing yards, 50 total touchdowns and still fewer picks than Joe.

And that's without Jamar Chase and Higgins. Burrow had to throw a ton this year, but he has efficient volume, Allen had a better statistical base at lower volume.

They are an incredibly coddled/spoiled fanbase. They won the Super Bowl in their fifth year in the league, and then they won another one. They’ve made the playoffs 16/29 times (and that is with missing the first 4 seasons).

 

Some of their older fans (boomers and older gen X) experienced losing their team, but the younger fans only know a team that almost always makes the playoffs and has an MVP or DPoTY every few seasons.

The Bills need to win a Super Bowl just so Josh can host SNL. He'd be the best athlete-host since Peyton Manning. Does SNL still invite the SB-winning QB? Tom Brady and Joe Montana were so bad, maybe they stopped?

And wasn't Josh top 5 last year? He didn't go. I have zero issue with Lamar not being there.

They definitely clue the players in. They have had the votes in for weeks. The NFL wants all the winners there. Even if they dont come right out and say it (which they still might) they at least give an indication. I'm sure his agent got a call that was like "Josh should definitely make it to the ceremony, and he should bring anyone who is close to him that he would like to celebrate with, wink-wink, nudge-nudge". And Lamar's agent got a call like "He's welcome to attend, but it's fine if Lamar is hanging out in Florida the night of the ceremony".

I’m not one for MVP Awards, but I trust that in 2025, Josh now award cements getting the calls v.s. Kermit or anybody else!

Him winning MVP will force the national Narrative to shift away from Kermit some.
