I don’t see this level of hate for anyone else in the NFL…even for the grubs who’s actions deserve it ..( Apart from D Watson) … A lot of the click bait media probably don’t believe what they write or say …but they seem to have a large audience that they are catering for who seem willing to lap it up.. JA has a life story that should be celebrated and he is one of the most talented players I have seen in my decades of watching the game …. so why the hate ? It’s not just salty Ravens fans either by the way before anyone points to this … Because darkness hates the light. Whenever you see irrational hate, it’s because the darkness hates the light. Quote

The agents/advertisers financially support the shows and need ratings, so they create these issues to make noise and keep obsessive fans engaged. It feels Oscar-esque. NFL=WWE now. If that's indeed the case, they just let Allen go over and put the belt on him. Unless it's a transition like Iron Shiek bridging from Backlund to Hogan, Josh is going to have some pull with the bookers. Quote

I was engaged in him getting an MVP for his resume, but probably won’t care that much ever again. Lamar people caring so much about a third MVP when there’s been so little playoff success is weird. Because the MVP is their Super Bowl. The trophies cover for the playoff choking. They can pretend Lamar isn’t a 9 Wonderlic run/pass option QB who only throws over the middle 1 Quote

He seems like a good dude from what I have seen. There was that one time people attacked him for being a homophobe because he told some troll on twitter to "eat a d*ck" 🤷♂️ Quote

WideNine Posted February 8 Posted February 8 He kept it very classy for B-lo. Nice to see Dawkins up there to introduce his QB. A lot of guys represented on that stage deserving of that award, but Allen has paid his dues, broke several records along the way, and it was time to be recognized for that body of work. 2 Quote
Utah John Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I was a little surprised that Allen won, not because he didn't deserve it, but because influential people were all talking up Jackson. And they both deserved it IMHO. I could have lived with it if Jackson had won, but I think Allen demonstrated how important he was to the Bills all through the season. Take Jackson off the Ravens and put in their backup, and they win 8 or 9 games easily. Put in Allen's backup and we're talking about a very high draft position. Which of the two would make an impact on any other team? Both, actually, but Allen would be a bigger difference for more teams. I don't take anything away from Jackson in saying that the voters got it right. 1 Quote
Dan Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Congratulations to Josh! It’s about time. Ans like everything… he displayed class!! I can’t help but think that he’s doing what he’s had to do his whole career… Slowly one by one prove the doubters wrong. Only now.. he’s proving that the Buffalo Bills deserve the recognition and accolades…. Not just him. And when he’s done the NFL and media pundits will have no choice but to acknowledge how great it is to see him and Buffalo winning the SuperBowl. Quote

Everything after that was a panicked, last ditch Lamar lobby to try to steal it at the end. There really wasn’t an opportunity because Ravens played crappy teams after that. No one was still fooled by the Steelers so it really didn’t help him. 1 Quote

Governor Posted February 8 Posted February 8 (edited) Did Lamar even show up to the ceremony? Burrow and Goff were there. Edited February 8 by Governor Quote
78thealltimegreat Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Jim Miller is really getting it today for even voting Joe Burrow over Lamar. Quote

It seems like a made for TV debate since James Jones was a big Allen backer most of the season. Even before the season he said if Allen gets the Bills to the playoffs he should be awarded the MVP. And he did James! lol Quote
