BuffaloBillyG Posted February 6 Posted February 6 (edited) Someone to maybe help Babich out. A former DC. Would figure this is a warning shot to Babich to pick it up a bit faster. Edited February 6 by BuffaloBillyG 12 1 8 1 Quote
Magox Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Great move and probably means the Bills go to more man to man coverages. I think they will be making moves in FA and through the draft to fit this more press man schemes 6 1 Quote

Whkfc Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Good hire. They GOTTA figure out the defensive line and get some outside voices i think a big part of our Chiefs problem is that Ried knows McDermott and his philosophy inside and out and knows exactly how to find the flaws when it matters most. So bringing in a couple voices from the outside can't hurt. 3 8 1 Quote

Brianmoorman4jesus Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Just anyone from the outside to start changing the ideas in the Defensive room. Anything to get away from this zone 6 3 1 2 Quote

Nielsen ran a ton of man defense in Jacksonville. IIRC, he was so stubborn he refused to change his approach versus Josh Week 3 and got torched. 3 minutes ago, Brianmoorman4jesus said: Just anyone from the outside to start changing the ideas in the Defensive room. Anything to get away from this zone I’d bet anything these still run zone but this is going to give them more flexibility depending on the opponent - almost like KC’s defense. It’s a strong indication Rasul Douglas is not coming back IMO 3 Quote

The Bills do not have an X's and O's problem. They have a Jimmy and Joe's problem. This offseason will hopefully take care of that for the most part. 4 4 1 Quote

Logic Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I like that the Bills have hired a new assistant DL coach and senior defensive assistant. To me, it shows that they know there's room for improvement and that they are not just being complacent, going into next season with no changes to the defensive staff (or, potentially, scheme). If you're a "status quo isn't working" guy, then this hire (and the assistant DL coach hire) constitute good news. 7 9 Quote

RkFast Posted February 6 Posted February 6 (edited) He isnt Buddy Ryan, Spags, Jim Schwartz, Dick Lebeau, Dom Capers, Wade Phillips and Bill Belichick all rolled into one and his defenses werent ranked #1 every single year he was a coach. Therefore: Sucks. Edited February 6 by RkFast 2 Quote

I think getting a new set of eyes on the Defense is absolutely in order... have no idea if he is the one... I dont really know him... but I am with you on your premise.. at least they know they have a problem... that is the first step... so color me encouraged. 3 Quote
