I'm not sure he quite has the burst or agility to project to a true outside 9 tech type pass rusher and I don't think he plays with enough leverage to be a 5 tech DE in a 3-4. I ended up thinking he might fit best as a 6/7T base "big end" in a 4-3 - a guy who plays the run really well and gets you 5-6 sacks a season. Yeah that sounds about right and probably what he ends up as. A solid player. But to be honest I thought JJ Watt was a 3-4 DE and was really surprised how early he was picked. Landon Jackson doesn't have any traits that make me say he CAN'T rush the passer at a high level. He just hasn't. I use the Watt comp because he had very low production in college as well. If Jackson tears it up at the combine he could bounce back into 1st round consideration. I doubt he will test as poorly as Epenesa did and have to change his body type etc.. Quote
Dan in Owego Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Just went back and watched what i could find on JJ at Wisconsin, and outside of being a little thicker than Landon it's almost like looking at the same player. Interesting to me is that both had only one big sack game, Watt against the Buckeyes, and Jackson against the Tide. I will admit i have a bias toward bigger ends with long arms and would love to see him and Groot work together👍 Quote
KOKBILLS Posted Saturday at 06:45 PM Posted Saturday at 06:45 PM Not sure exactly where they take one of them. But I want the Bills to come away with either Shavon Revel Jr (of course assuming the knee checks out. I saw a video of him light running on a treadmill in early Jan, so it looks like he's coming along on schedule), or Darien Porter. I fully admit both come with risk. But they both have massive upside and are plus, plus explosive athletes. Revel is more physical in the run game. He's an animal. But both are big cover CB's with great recovery speed who play physical. Both were impact ST's players. Either one... Get it done Beane... 1 Quote

If he fell to Round 2 I'd look at him if got a quality DT with our top pick and grab a CB or WR with our other 2nd rounder. Quote
