So 8 teams based internationally ? Seems a lot to me …

Unlikely.

most likely thing is maybe a team in London. Even that is tough given the time differences etc. the league would have a very tough time divesting talent at 40 teams and the issues with just a single team is a lot. I’d also add many players have zero desire to live overseas.

The last line is the main issue …could see players being visibly disappointed when drafted by an international team, and then breaking their necks to get out of Dodge as quick as they can come free agency .,

Even London is tough …especially for them, having to travel to the US for half their games .,.. We all complain here about the Bills having to travel once every couple of years - imagine doing it 8 times a year ...

Maybe by 2040 there is a leap in air travel that can halve the travel times ….its still a big ask even if that was the case …

Its unbelievable what greed has done to this league.  Fn sickening

I don't like the direction the League is going either.  Let's just play football!

I'm still ticked off at the league for scheduling the Bills as the "home team" in London versus the "visiting" Jacksonville Jaguars, who are far more experienced playing games in London AND had played the week before in London, giving them an extra week to get acclimated.

Too bad the owners don't ask for garbage officiating to be fixed 1st before bringing a tainted ass game overseas.

Do you really believe the owners are more interested in the garbage officiating than increasing their bottom line? Until the first negatively affects the second (it never has) nothing will change.

At least they should be honest and change the name to the International Football League.

You didn't like being the guinea pig?  That was an effin joke.

Yeah the Bills are their team.  And Canada's.  But the Bills don't seem to have any interest in actively cultivating a fan base in certain countries like some teams do.   Gotta' get Poland before da Bears.

There's pry lots of millennial Bills fans in Africa.

Really sick of Roger G.

He's ruining the league. The Patriots stuff was ridiculous, but accepted unfortunately. Now it's way worse. He wants to protect the shield by watering down the product and who-re-ing the best team for ratings and money because of a pop singer's fanbase.

Just like boxing, just like baseball, so will go football. Completely avoidable, however always inevitable. Greed will ruin the league, just as it will run this country.

I don’t understand the problem? Doesn’t every business try to make as much money as they can? If there’s a market for it and money to be made, why wouldn’t they try to expand? I work for a large company (10k employees & $3B revenue). We had a call with the CEO yesterday and all it was about was growth. Isn’t that the goal of a business Are we saying that a business should say, “nah I’m good? I don’t want more money.” I just don’t understand the outrage (not just from you). No one has an issue when my company roles out new initiatives designed to drive revenue. I really, really, really struggle with growing the game being a “problem.”

Why do I love the Bills so much and hate the NFL so much.  It literally tears you apart.  The game has gone astray and the officiating and commercial marketing has destroyed what last bit of credibility they had.

If the league lost all credibility,  i think it would be in serious trouble, it's not.

I seriously wish the NFL would just F off with this crap. The Bills in Toronto was the low point for me in this club's entire history, absolutely awful product in a sterile environment and that was before the NFL itself got the idea.  Does any other sports league do this? Other sports have off season tours but nobody bastardizes their sport by playing a regular season game (in their domestic league) in another country. Champions league soccer in Europe you might argue but that really isnt the same thing.

Maybe Goodell should concentrate on fixing the horrible officiating through technology and better training. Maybe he should tweak the rules in other areas to improve the game.

I go back to the early 70s... the transition of the league is similar to me to the transition in music when it was creative, raw and had this local feel to it... it then progressed to this processed, scripted, over played, entity that focused on the Dollar and not the music...  I listen to the Who's good by sister disco... plastic, deaf, dumb and blind...  I think the NFL is becoming plastic, deaf, dumb and blind... too full of themselves to think that they could ever be knocked off the perch...

ok LOL that was a stretch comparison.. but on one cup a coffee its the best I got right now :)

The NHL does it (Sabres did this year). The NBA does it (Wemby was just in France). MLB does it (last year they played in Seoul, Mexico City and London). They also play games at the Field of Dreams Stadium and at the Little League World Series. It’s 2025. The world has never been smaller. Get used to it…
