boyst Posted February 5 Posted February 5 (edited) "Every year the first offensive play I use to set the theme for how I see the season going. That Cook play: "Charging straight ahead, going further than expected." That's what 2024 is going to be" It turned out to be exceptionally accurate. As did many years. The play with Kolb at WR and under Rex Ryan as the clown show, followed by having Gronk's little brother start with Tyrod and just completely run into a wall on the first play. I can't wait for what our first play of 2025 will end up being. What memorable first plays of the year do you have? Edited February 5 by boyst 1 Quote

BarleyNY Posted February 5 Posted February 5 (edited) I don’t think it got talked about, but Allen fumbled in the KC playoff game. He simply held off the defender (who was trying to tackle him) with one arm, bent over and picked up the ball. Next to the Saquon Barkley reverse hurdle, it was the most athletic play I saw all season. No QB should be able to do that and I can’t think of another that could. Not play but first drive of the season a couple years back when we opened at home against the Steelers. Isiah McKenzie took the opening kickoff back pretty far. From there the Bills did almost nothing and had to settle for a FG despite starting in plus territory. I looked at my son and said, man that's a bad omen for the season. 1 Quote

The chargers game was terribly hot and we played like ***** The Jets opener where two kickoffs, including the opening KO of OT was returned for TD's was lousy but exciting. Quote

Matt Cassell under center. Home v Colts. And it cost Tyrod a QB win stat as Cassell was recorded as the starter. Famously Rex had boasted to the refs beforehand that our first play was a touchdown on a trick play. Typical Rex. All bluster, clown show execution. Edited February 5 by GunnerBill 1 1 Quote

We cut DiMarco to have young gronk play FB and then get bulldozed on the opening play. Quote

It was Jerome Felton, signed as a FA in 2015, cut at final cutdowns in 2016 for baby Gronk, a move reversed before week 2. DiMarco was a McDermott signing in 2017. 1 Quote
