Blank Stare Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Now this dude is a damn warrior. Sucks injuries robbed him of a career, but I’ll never forget what he did for the team in that Miami heat game on a torn ACL. 1 1 Quote
Mark Vader Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Best wishes to him. I was cheering for the guy. Despite the injuries he looked he had potential to at least be a good back-up for us. Quote
BigAl2526 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 The NFL creates heroes and crushes dreams. Tommy Doyle is one of the unlucky ones. Hopefully, he has his degree and was able to save some money. Whatever he does next I hope his luck is better. 1 Quote

Longer than the average player He had his NFL moment It depends on whether his goal was to be on an NFL roster and making a nice salary, or playing a meaningful number of snaps in an NFL regular season and making a difference to a team. You are right. He has been on the Bills' roster for years, though some of those years he lost completely to injury, spending them on IR. It's also true that hundreds of players come and go in the NFL leaving with fewer years than Doyle. I still think he leaves wishing his career had been a little more. 1 Quote

Ofc he does I've had a dozen friends who have had mini camp tryouts, udfa deals Guys who busted their butt for a decade of their life to fall up short and not even make a practice squad Those are the guys I feel for really Tommy Doyle hell yeah I wish he would have stayed healthy and made more impact but he was an NFL player at least with roster spot Edited February 6 by Buffalo716 Quote
Richard Noggin Posted February 6 Posted February 6 A lot of posters on this board would privately hope to be this lucky by age 46. Tommy Doyle is still only 26! Has earned over $3M in 4 years in the league. Probably went to college entirely for free. At face value, that all sounds pretty LUCKY. Quote
