The friggin fees were $16 per ticket for tickets that were a $23 value. I was stunned. So, the bill for two $23 tickets came out to be $79. Unreal. A few years ago The Cure was on tour. They strong armed TM to give partial refunds of the ticket fees, when it came out that there were people spending more in fees, than their lawn seats cost at some tour stops. When I was looking before the Conference Championships, you could get direct from the NFL through On Location, the upper deck end zones for about $7,500. That did include extras like private party before the game and food/drink options. They do still show some ticket packages for $5,000 available. I remembered them calling the 1st one the Super Bowl & went to the Buffalo downtown library years ago to get the proof because the Bills played in the AFL championship game. The NFL didn't officially call it the Super Bowl until III but everyone else was always calling it the Super Bowl. I printed this off the microfilm that the library had of all the back newspapers of the Courier Express. I also have a photo from the 1st one where at halftime the Thanks for this. I should have been clearer: the first several games were officially titled "World Championship" not "Super Bowl". I did not know that unofficially people were referring to it as the Super Bowl as early as the first game in 1967. Quote

The reason I remembered it was because there was a banner at the Rockpile that I saw on TV while watching the AFL championship game that said "Bills in Super Bowl, Chiefs in Soup Bowl" with Chiefs players drawn in a soup bowl. Since1981 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 $2300 would be justified/ doable for me if it were Bills. This would be easily double or triple with bills in. Every bone in my body wants to boycott this Trump/TayTay/Mahomo bowl. But like a car crash, I have to look. Go Birds 1 Quote

Do fans of the teams even go? My understanding is that it's mostly rich people and corporate suits going for the "experience". Imagine you are trying to close a $500k/yr enterprise software subscription. Going to the game on the company's dime to schmooze can help close that deal. Quote

Bingo, Northeast sports fans are major posers. They’ll show up for home games when their team is a winner, or use fandom as an excuse to fight someone, but it’s not a lifestyle. Giants fans have all but disappeared since the title runs, at least the ones I know. Quote

It's pretty embarrassing. 1 Quote

The Bills were going to do a lottery type draw for season ticket holders after the Conference Championship if they made it, so some fans would be able to get tickets at face value. Not sure where those tickets would be. Quote
Bills!Win! Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Why does New Orleans keep getting super bowls? Isn’t their stadium also old? It doesn’t look impressive either. Always seemed like an odd place to me 1 Quote

Since1981 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 New Orleans/LA is shoddy vs AZ FL TX NV CA sites. Good food and drink but it’s by no means bougie. French Quarter is interesting, grubby Quote
