You absolutely should NEVER chase points that early in a game. We're not that good on 2 point conversions anyway. 1 Quote

Worthy is a phenomenal athlete but I've talked about him multiple times in the thread to how he is nothing like a DeSean Jackson He has a world class speed, but his routes have no nuance... He doesn't know how to change tempo to keep a defensive back off guard and his release needs work Even John Brown and worthy are nothing alike has receivers besides speed Why I liked Jackson and in the original post was because his savviness as a route runner and ability to set people up He could run a go route six different ways.. and a comeback off of it six different ways , and a post six different ways I'm looking for a savvy route runner who knows how to win with pace and craftiness and leverage downfield not just pure speed The speed has to come with the above.. if it's just blazing fast it's not going to do much long-term But you could run a 4.43 with the above traits and be exceptional Edited February 8 by Buffalo716 1 Quote

And definitely not against that D and especially a QB sneak from 36"....I thought the decision to go was questionable but I bet the data says to do it.....my big issue was the play call. Quote

Buffalo botched the WR pick for sure. Never wanted Coleman he wasn't even a Third round pick in my book and many others. 1 Quote
Julio Hopkins Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Funnily enough, I think Worthy would have been the perfect addition to this offense. They wouldn't have needed him to run complex routes. They need speed and the ability to stretch the field. It's a skillset they desperately needed when they got Diggs, same now. We'll see what happens with Coleman, it's too early to give up on him. That said, I think we can guess what his ceiling will be. I'm guessing Gabe Davis level player, hopefully he'll end up closer to a Courtland Sutton type. Honestly, I think my biggest fear is that they drafted him solely because of this blocking bull####. 1 Quote

Fair argument but I still think there's plenty of room for 2 Shakir's. 2 points that need to be considered: 1. The chargers receivers were so depleted, would McConkey have gotten the same opportunity/stats with us. His stats at Georgia were veyr pedestrian. Know who also had average stats from Georgia - James Cook. 2. I had Coleman as a mid 2nd rounder and no problem with the choice other than desperately wanting McConkey and being deathly afraid of his 40 times. His 10 cone drill (quickness) and athleticism was near the top in the draft class. He was really coming on strong and I was thinking he could be a star before the cheap hit by Poyer (I think he had 185 yards in 2 games prior). As Beane stated, when he came back from the injury he wasn't the same player for some reason. Hopefully he heals up and takes 2 steps forward next year. Quote

And boy was it a sign of things to come. I absolutely hated it too. My biggest gripe was Hey, McDummy! We were GIFTED a TD… let’s get the F out of here right now! I was very prepared for the Chiefs to go TD-TD to bookend halftime. And here our idiot coach is taking points off the board! I absolutely wanted to punch something. We lost momentum, and yo-yo’d it for the rest of the game until Kincaid’s drop. Really felt that 21-17 would have settled the boys down for a much more systemic beat down of the Chiefs in the second half. And McDermott stole that feeling from me within seconds at 21-16 1 Quote
SoonerBillsFan Posted February 9 Posted February 9 It should have been McConkey or BTJ. look at BTJ's stats. But Beane wasn't willing to trade up. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/T/ThomBr06.htm Quote

Probably 4.43 but like Odell he goes up Matthew golden Texas Super savvy route runner for a guy with his electric speed, fights for balls at the top, creates quick separation but he shows a higg IQ in his route saviness Both could probably be had late first into the mid-second I don't know if you could say Eric moulds is really underrated He's always considered one of the top five wide receivers in bills history.. has 9,995 yards and was a dominant football player He had some consistency issues but Hall of Fame talent Dang 5 yards short of 10,000 Quote

And the Bills offense just put up the 16th best offense in the history of the NFL and best in Bills history. Our offense isn't the travesty some people make it sound like when expressing WR concerns. But don't get me wrong, we absolutely need to address WR this offseason...but I do very much hope, and expect, that Hollins will be back because he was a good player for the Bills this year. We all saw our receivers get shutdown easily by decent man coverage. They need to build a team that will beat the big dogs, not run up the score in the regular season. Quote
zow2 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 The "everybody eats" mantra was cute last season but that should be a given going forward. Whoever is open gets the ball. No pouting allowed, however, the team could definitely use an elite WR for Allen. I'd spend more resources on defense for sure, but get the man one very good WR to the room...otherwise the offense is in good shape. Quote
