There's a lot of debate about what type of guy Josh needs... A big physical freak like DK... A Jamar Chase etc

Look what Josh did with John Brown.. arguably our offense , passing wise has never been the same since Brown left

He was much better than Gabe, reliable hands good route runner and burner

DeSean Jackson mold is the exact type guy we need to get Josh.. whether it's in the draft or getting a chase like guy

I made a thread here years ago about wide receiver nuance in the route running.. about how the best have varied speeds in the route running.. they don't just all run full speed throughout the route that's easy to actually stop

Need nuance, change of pace, leverage

Watch DeSean Jackson in the clip up top.. going through multiple speeds in his route... Setting up and leveraging the safety just to go from 12 miles an hour to 22 in an instant

That's real savvy route running with great speed

A prime DeShaun Jackson would turn Josh unstoppable... I definitely would take Chase over DK because of route saviness and I hope we get get Josh a savvy route runner with some Wheels because that will take our offense and josh to another level

So you’re saying that Josh needs arguably the best receiver in the league, and if it was up to you, you would choose the best receiver in the league over a guy who might not even be top 10?

No

He's saying the MVS experiment needs to be recalibrated

Xavier Worthy is probably the closest thing to Jackson I’ve seen come out of college.

Jackson is very rare. There’s really only one player ever like him.

They're not even close

And yeah Jackson is one of the best deep threats in NFL history..

Worthy is a one speed pony.. he literally has none of the nuance or change of pace ability that Jackson has

He's just really fast

I agree, Desean Jackson is an all-time great, when we're talking about deep threats.

To answer the OP's question, I would say the ideal guy, is a less injury prone Tee Higgins.  Speed threat with size and length.

Everybody wants somebody who has all the physical skills with the size

But DeSean Jackson is a better deep threat than DK Metcalf.. he's a better route runner.. a savvier player .. has another gear when the ball is in the air I'll take to Sean Jackson over it

Like I like DK but I would take DeSean Jackson over him

I said Josh needs a  DeSean Jackson

He was never considered the best in the league lol I said Chase might be the closest guy to him to which I would take

But we need the skill set of DeSean Jackson

Diggs doesn't have the burners though

He's fast enough not super fast for the NFL

Diggs is about as far from Desean Jackson as can be for WR

It was a joke based on all the other things described about the player

I have always said Lee Evans played for the wrong Bills era, he would be insane with Allen

Yes he would

Lee Evans was a very very good wide receiver in his prime

6 ft tall, could run routes, he can jump and he had the burners

Stevie Johnson urges Bills to pursue 6-time Pro Bowl WR in free agency

Stevie is lobbying for Keenan Allen -  last year yielded 15 starts and 744 yards and seven touchdowns for the Bears.

I can barely imagine a less inspiring move than signing an oft-injured over the hill Allen. I have no desire to sign Amari Cooper, but I'd still do that in a second before pursuing Keenan Allen.

And we passed on Jackson . . . to pick a receiver!

Honestly it was so long ago I don't even remember...

Who did we pick? James Hardie

We just need one good outside receiver - whatever that looks like.  Right now our best boundary receiver is Mack Hollins.  Let that sink in.  Our best receiver is MACK HOLLINS.

While he is a boundary WR, he was still just our 4th WR this year.  And the Bills offense just put up the 16th best offense in the history of the NFL and best in Bills history.  Our offense isn't the travesty some people make it sound like when expressing WR concerns.

But don't get me wrong, we absolutely need to address WR this offseason...but I do very much hope, and expect, that Hollins will be back because he was a good player for the Bills this year.
