And then once they trade him they'll be like...

"At the time we weren't interested in trading him, but we respect Myles and wanted to honor him and all he's done for us. Some felt this trade worked for both sides"

How was that?

They are likely waiting for an offer of 2 Firsts.  I'm guessing so far it's been  1st + 2nd + 4th  as ballpark best offer

Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry has doubled down on his previous stance regarding Myles Garrett, repeating that the four-time All-Pro pass rusher is not available via trade.

Berry spoke to reporters Tuesday afternoon at the NFL Scouting Combine, saying that the team’s stance “has not changed” and that doing what’s best for the organization involves keeping Garrett.

“We respect and appreciate Myles,” Berry said. “We’re not interested in moving him.”

They really could be this dumb, though. Look at the Watson contract.

Things could get really ugly between the player and the team. All that does is drive the price down.

If Garrett says he's never playing another down for the Browns then the price drops.

IMO that's likely to happen

Same thing will happen with Burrow in a year or two.

Once everyone digs in other teams know you're in a real mess and you will be forced to deal.

Teams can't take the hit to their power and pride, so they try to play hardball and force the player to stay. But with social media and the way the league is structured now players have far more power than they ever had before, and the fans will be on their side, as will the sports media. It'll get loud fast.

Then they'll end up taking less than they could have had once the writing was on the wall.

Pride costeth many a first round pick.

What if?....We just cut Von and use all our draft picks. Let's say we pick up 2 DTs and an Edge with the first 3 picks and just let them play....and they spend a bit more for veteran DTs.

Will we ever be that team that drafts and builds with success? Maxx Crosby 4th rd.?  Would we take that approach after soaking these years outta Josh?

Maybe it's time. I for one do not want another Von deal.

You don't think the Bills are one of the teams that has been built through the draft and had success?

you're under the assumption this regime can successfully evaluate DL from college.  Although I would like Deone Walker from Kentucky

Trade picks for Edge, sign another and draft a huge DT

Sporadically ok, but if we now need to build an interior Dline.....should we just draft and play?  If we get the Edge from BC and a big 6 5 285 DE combined with Groot and Solomon, do we need to do wild moves? Either way I'm confident im BB. He's got our Oline good for a while.

This draft is loaded on the dline and corner.

I really hope they draft 3-4 dline and 3-5 dbs

Well they can't make a splash move in a trade and do that.  What do ya do?

I'm not sure a big trade is going to happen. They can build a frickin powerhouse roster in fa and with ten picks

Last years draft was loaded with WR, and they walked away with a 20 yr old development project … I wouldn’t object to them trading for more of a known quantity DL this offseason… although I think the really big names land elsewhere ..,

They just need to be smarter. I knew that Starr was not gonna produce and then they treat DQJ  the same way. They've been sucking at vet DT for some time.

They might as well play draft picks and take their chances.

I hope they draft two or 3 defensive lineman also but I am not convinced they are taking a 1 tech DT at 30.

When you start to look at the grouping of players they may be available to them at 30 I just dont think they stay put and use it on a 1 tech.

imagine a situation where say

DT Walter Nolen

DE Donovan Ezeiraku

DT Tyliek Williams

CB Jahdee Barron

DE JT Tuimalo

S Xavier Watts

DE Jack Sawyer

WR Matthew Golden

S Nick Emmanwori

DT Alfred Collins

are all available.  I don't think any of those D-Lineman separate themselves.  They would love to have an end or tackle that can play day one.  I am not sure any of those guys are that guy.  Now look at safety and wr.  I think Golden and Watts would play day one but what if because of the tight ends and offensive lineman they can be had later?

I have this feeling they are going to move back again this year for this reason and recoup the 3rd they lost to cleveland.

I can imagine a scenario where Jax or las vegas (Etc.) decide they need to go up and get a guy and they send 68 or 70 plus their 2 for 30.   I bet buffalo does something like that and then takes what is left of that group of players.

Alfred collins at 30, Ezeiraku at 30 or say Barron at 30 they probably are not thrilled with but at 36 or 37 plus a 3rd rounder they would be ecstatic.

I just think that is going to happen unless some of these guys do something to make the bills fall in love with them.

the bills like most teams do not want to spend premium picks on 1 tech DT who come off the field on 3rd downs or passing downs.  The Bills made the decision years ago to fill that role with mid level DT on 1 year or 2 year deals.

Except then the draft would be over and the picks would all be future picks, so it makes everything a lot less clear.  Cleveland would have nothing to show for the trade until next year.  Might as well wait until next year at that point.

Garrett wants to move on, but it is very difficult for the Browns to do that with their cap situation before June 1st.

The Browns currently are projected to have the following picks for the 2025 draft.

Picks # 2, 33, 67, 94, 103, 165, 181, 194, 202, 216, 217, 220, 257.  They have 13 pics right now!

They are not NEEDING the picks from a Garrett trade this year.  It makes sense to have the Bills 1st and 2nd next season.

The Browns keep saying this and everyone thinks it's not true.  They will have a hard time doing it in March.

I'm not the only one saying that June 1st makes more sense.

****My hope is that Beane, the Browns and Garrett can agree to do this after June 1st.

It would be great if that happened.  Beane could use ALL of this year's picks AND get Garrett before camp.
