So, 69 pages so far. Had the trade happened yet?

Yes we are also talking about our newly acquired Maclin and Ertz as well

Well if we can’t acquire him then I’m ok W him staying in Cleveland rather than be on an opponent that we will need to face/go through. That being said it would be a huge get to land him here for the Bills!!

I don’t see any reason to pardon the Browns. They have a cap for a reason. I want Haslam to have to take his medicine for being one of the worst owners in professional sports. I feel for their fans, but I want to stick it to Haslam.

Haslam is a moron. And I also feel for Garrett in this situation. HoF career being wasted by incompetence. He should have an opportunity to leave and the browns should have an opportunity to have a proper reset if he does.

Cap space should be more flexible in this league than it already is. Maybe the league should be able to forgive cap debt to help give teams more opportunity to be competitive regardless of their mistakes

I think that the NFL could have a "forgiveness" policy for dead cap money if it was very strict and didn't benefit the parties responsible for it.  First of all, the owner would have to sell the team, and the new ownership would have to hire new upper management, including a GM.  The forgiveness could be a percentage of the dead cap amount or it could be allowing the team to spread that dead cap amount over several years.

Why just the Browns? We have one set of rules for everyone. If you are idiots and screw it up, you should pay the price. I agree Garrett is in a terrible situation and I hope he escapes Cleveland. But Haslam should face the consequences of his stupidity, IMO. They have a deal that was collectively bargained. You can’t just start playing by new rules for different situations.

This may have been posted, sorry if it was.

but it says most GMs don’t expect two first for Garrett, they think less.  Other GMs think it’ll be 2 firsts, and a low pick or player.

also, due to cap hit, Garrett is more likely to be traded post June 1, which is after the draft.

maybe a good idea, albeit risky, would be to trade one of our 2s this year, for a 1 next year.  Then after the draft, we could offer the browns two first rounders in 2026 draft.  Something that no other team could offer…..

So who is trading a first next year for a pick in the 50s this year?  Its not like our 2nds are early 2nds.

It’s been done before.  I don’t think it matters where the pick is, it matters what player is available.

Just saying it’s a strategy.

Sorry if this was already posted.  Rousseau and 2 firsts for Garrett?  What's the feeling on that?

Around the 13 minute mark.

Read an article today in the Athletic, basically says very doubtful Cleveland trades Garrett as the cap hit to them would be too high.  Between what they owe Watson, plus they have other deals where they added void years, adding Garrett to this would be too much.  Article says Cleveland is in one of the worst spots in league.

Most teams can sacrifice that cap space, but not the Browns. Already $24.3 million over the projected cap, they have used these accounting tricks for so many other players that it'd be difficult for them to find the additional $16.5 million in cap room.

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6151513/2025/02/21/myles-garrett-how-void-years-work-nfl-scoop-city/

I have said the same a couple of times already.

The Browns could swing it, but it would really hurt.

They could trade CB Greg Newsome to dump his 5th year option cap ($13.3M).

Restructure Denzel Ward ($11M) and get a few million on some other players.

BUT the only way to really open up cap is to restructure Deshaun Watson and push the money owed him out.

That is a horrible, horrible option.

Just woke up from an unplanned nap…yes, I am old.

Bills Ravens is in NFLN.  Last 5 minutes in the game. Getting sucked in…

Dear BB. Do whatever it takes to improve the team to make the run next year! I want to know the feeling of not just winning playoff games, but the AFCC also!  Garrett, Maxx, whatever it takes.

I want a game wrecker..or two.. that stops the last Ravens drive cold!

Oh, we’re just warming up so far! Wait until we get even closer to nothing happening! It’s going to get REALLY wild as we approach our ultimate disappointment.
