But yeah the reality is the guy should still command a king’s ransom, gonna be hard to envision us landing him without making an offer that would make even the Rams blush. If he’s going to a contender, and we don’t land him, he MUST go the NFC! Quote

If he really wants to come to Buffalo (or another contender in the AFC) to chase a ring, the Browns will find a way to get it done. They are more than a year away from contending anyway and who knows how long it will be if they don't find an answer at QB. Nobody in the AFC they might deal with will be hindering any eventual title aspirations Cleveland may have. They should deal him for the best return to one of a handful of teams Garrett will likely approve, whether that's Buffalo or not. If the compensation is close and he only wants the Bills, then they probably take slightly less and move him to WNY, IMO. Why wouldn’t Garrett play ball with the Browns FO to get out of Cleveland? Do you think that if the Browns laid out the options as I did above, he’d say “No. I demand Buffalo (or KC or Houston).”? Quote

Personally though I would invest in rebuilding the secondary before I would trade the farm for Garrett. Mahomes had an average time to throw of like 2.2 seconds in the AFCCG, only 1.77 seconds against man (if I'm remembering correctly). I don't care if Bruce Smith is rushing opposite of Reggie White, you aren't getting to the QB that fast. A player like Garrett would certainly raise our regular season ceiling and maybe put us in contention for the #1 seed so from that perspective I would understand it. I just don't think it's the move that will get us past the Chiefs in the playoffs. We need 3/4 of our secondary fixed and we need a downfield passing game. That would be my focus this offseason. You’re right again Happy. The farm just needs a little upgrade. The great QBs (Allen, Kamar and Pat) get the ball airborne in a hurry. Keep the farm and add a race horse. 1 Quote

gonzo1105 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago You make the call just like you make the call for Crosby and Hendrickson. I am very for trading for a proven defensive player if it can fit in the cap 1 Quote

DJB Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago For those comparing Von to Myles, Garrett is 29 we got Von when he was 33 Huge difference Quote

I do think he would want to go to a clear contender especially one he feels like he can put over the Top... Buffalo, Baltimore (not gonna happen) Texans, Eagles, 49ers, Lions even the Bronco's... Pats.. with a QB in the hopper and Vrabel I certainly dont think they are excluded... for sure... will be interesting... but I think we are definitely on the list... I’d add Washington to the list. They need defense in the worst way. I’m sure that the Bills are on Garrett’s list. But I am also sure that the Browns would not want to trade him to Buffalo - unless they were by far the best offer. I don't know if he wants to go to a specific destination or just someplace he feels is a Super Bowl contender. The point I was trying to make is that I don't think Buffalo or another perceived contender would be off the list just because they happen to reside in the AFC. In a perfect world, I'm sure Cleveland would prefer to ship him to the NFC. I just don't think they have all the leverage, that's all. Time will tell. 1 Quote

Pete Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Let’s trade Von and a first for Miles! Cleveland is the team that made move for Watson, and gave him a couple million guaranteed lol Quote
One Buffalo Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Reggie White was 32 when he signed with Green Bay, he was Pro Bowl and All Pro for 6 years after. They won Super Bowl 3 years after he arrived. https://sports.yahoo.com/reggie-white-2-0-packers-162949893.html 2 Quote
