Yeah because Beane has such a stellar record with first round picks

Hey, it’s only been 7 drafts. We gotta give him another few 1-2 round picks to throw at the d line and he’s bound to find a blue chip guy at some point, right?

CLE gets: Rousseau, pick #30, pick #56, 2026 2nd round pick.

BUF gets: Garrett, 2025 4th round pick.

I am thinking this is closer...  Looking at the Watson trade.. mind you this was for a Premier (or at least they thought Premier) QB in his Prime... 3  1sts, and a 3,4,6 over 3 years...  Rodgers was effectively a swap of 1sts and an extra second and change.. Tyreek Hill 1,2 and change... Bradley Chubb, 1st and 4th and Chase Edmonds for  Chubb and change.  Diggs for a late 2... now I know this isnt apples to apples... but I just dont see multiple firsts involved... I look at it more like the Tyreek trade... or Chubb trade in terms of comparison...  mind you Garrett has layed the gauntlet down, this does not bode well for the Cleveland negotiating position.  Getting an extra 1st and 2nd after getting gutted by the Watson trade would be welcome, throw in a replacement player that has fairly good production and that may get it done.

he'll go to the team that offers him the biggest deal

like usual

So, leave one bad team that is years away to go win a Super Bowl with another bad team that's years away? Makes sense

Rousseau is not that great. Myles Garrett still has a lot of good years left. You make this move

Id rather keep Rousseau, I think he would be a star with Garrett opposite him

This is where Joshua Patrick Allen should step up and say "skip the contract re-do...get me more help."

The contract re do might be good in that it will drastically reduce our 2025 cap number.

At least that’s what the cap people are saying.

I'm perfectly fine if it costs us 3 first rounders... Maybe we get back out 3rd from this year so we still have 3 top 100 picks.

It's past time for this franchise to ***** or get off the pot. Allen isn't getting any younger

Garrett has always that injury concern for me.  I dont know what it is, but I take him as a guy that breaks down.

Would I take Garrett on this team, 100% yes.  Am I giving up multiple high value assets, not a chance.

He's missed like 1 game in the last 4 years

They won’t eliminate AFC offers - outside of the AFCN, as you mention. They’ll just send him to the NFC if the compensation is close. And they’ll give the NFC teams every chance to do that.

One outside AFC option that I’d worry about is New England. I don’t think Garrett would approve that due to how bad they’ve been, but Vrabel just spent last season working with the Browns. I don’t know what their relationship is or what Garrett thinks of their upside with Vrabel at HC and Maye at QB.

I think plenty of teams in play for sure... I just dont think he sees the light in Cleveland... that said... I do think he would want to go to a clear contender especially one he feels like he can put over the Top... Buffalo, Baltimore (not gonna happen) Texans, Eagles, 49ers, Lions even the Bronco's... Pats.. with a QB in the hopper and Vrabel I certainly dont think they are excluded... for sure... will be interesting...  but I think we are definitely on the list...

This draft is loaded with DT and Edge.  How about we keep Roseau, load up on DT and Edge, and don’t mess up our salary cap on a 30 year old.  I want the D to get younger and faster

I guess it depends how close you think the Bills are to winning a SB.

There are good defensive prospects in the drafts but can you rely on a player at the bottom of R1 and R2 to make an impact as a rookie?   I can’t recall a time when that’s happened under this regime.

I would love Garrett for Buffalo.  The problem though is that Cleveland is like $70M over the cap for next season.  They need to find ways for cheap talent on the roster.

I don’t think Rosseau would be much of a bargaining chip considering he’s on a one-year deal.  Plus his extension will end up close to what Garrett would make.

Draft picks might work but Buffalo is drafting low this season (30) and probably next season as well.

It does make you wonder how Buffalo can put together enough compensation to land Garrett

If Garrett is limiting his destination to bona fide contenders, that helps keep the competition down.

But yeah the reality is the guy should still command a king’s ransom, gonna be hard to envision us landing him without making an offer that would make even the Rams blush.

I’d do my first and some change. If they start ever asking for 2 firsts, I’m out.

We need elite blue chip play makers, and we’ve seen how putting all your eggs in one basket can work out for you (Diggs, Von).

I'm all for keeping Rousseau with Garrett. I am not in favor of keeping Rousseau over Garrett

We can’t take the risk of getting another Boogie Basham. Garrett is a sure thing, a bonafide hall of Famer who is well on track to break Bruce Smith’s sack record.
