if Josh Sweat hits UFA, try to get him.  Unlikely.

So,

Release Von

Rousseau + 2nd + 4th for Maxx

1st, 1st, 2nd (2026), 6th for Myles

Draft the biggest meanest DT available with our remaining 2nd

The Eagles have a LOT of Free Agents this coming offseason. Some that will be prioritized over Sweat. It's very likely he hits the market - https://fansided.com/list-of-every-eagles-free-agent-in-2025-and-where-they-ll-sign

I think we all need to pump the brakes on Maxx Crosby a bit though. Sweat is a Free Agent, so there's a good chance he'll just be out there to sign. Myles Garrett has publicly told the Browns he wants out and will be traded. Maxx Crosby though? Between what he's been saying and the fact that they just hired old man, Defensive Head Coach Pete Carroll - I don't think he's going anywhere.

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/maxx-crosby-ive-had-doubts-in-past-but-this-is-the-most-optimistic-ive-been-about-raiders

There's been a complete 180 in his attitude to the Raiders since they hired Pete Carroll. It doesn't seem like he wants to go anywhere anymore and i'd be surprised if Pete Carroll's up for a rebuild at his age. Or looking to trade his best Defensive player, as a Defensive coach.

So personally - when it comes to End's right now, my focus is on Myles Garrett first. If we can't get that done, then i'm looking at Josh Sweat in Free Agency. You can call on Crosby. But you're making it sound like he's definitively on the market like Garrett and Sweat by talking about him in every post on Edges - and that's not the case. At least at the moment.

Things could change, but right now - I wouldn't put him in the same breath as Garrett or Sweat as obtainable.

At this point how do you justify not throwing me resources at the D-line

We really just need to rebuild the entire defense at this point. DBs other than Benford were bad last year, defensive line was bad. LBers were the best group, but I think it’s still unclear if Milano will ever return to form. Williams and Bernard are okay, but Williams is a liability in coverage. Worst in the league on third down (which continued in the playoffs). With an average number of turnovers, this is a bottom-10 defense.

It’s actually kind of amazing we had such a successful season. Offense did a lot to protect the defense by playing ball control and scoring a lot.

I think fans are taking the wrong lesson from this game. Philly's DL didn't dominate because they had one elite player. They had WAVES of top tier pass rushers accumulated over several years of major draft and FA investments. It's too late for us to build that caliber of DL in one or even two offseasons.

For the bolded, that's Beane's fault for not being able to do that here. I humbly disagree that it's too late though. If it is too late, we might as well trade Josh Allen.

The Chiefs O line got exposed against the Texans originally…. Our boys couldn’t lay a glove on Mahoney or get them off the field… as we saw all year mind you

Improve the D Line and Secondary… run back the O …. With a swing at a deep WR

It helps that both the Eagles and Texans also have a great secondary. The Eagles have elite talent at all three levels of the defense. We're like 10 players away from having that caliber of defense. So that isn't a realistic goal.

I've come close to jumping into the Myles Garrett bandwagon, but ultimately I still support making broad investments across the entire defense rather than spending all the resources on one player. And more importantly invest in the offense so it can put 40 points on the Chiefs like Philly did today (yes that included a pick-six but it also included a full quarter of garbage time).

The more I watch this the more I wish our DTs were … more.

You could make the argument that the biggest whiff Beane has made in his time here was in 2019. In fact I'd make that argument. Oliver has been a good player but that was our last chance at a top 10 pick and we got good instead of elite. Christian Wilkins, Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence, and Jeffrey Simmons all were picked soon after. Then in the 2nd round we took Cody Ford instead of DK Metcalf or AJ Brown. Ever since that year we've drafted at the bottom of the rounds and Beane has had the built in excuse that "we're too good to have a chance at blue chip players." But when he had that chance he hit a single instead of a home run.

we could badly use a Dexter Lawrence or Jeffrey Simmons….almost as much as a Garrett

DaQuan Jones had a nice run, but….

all we really have is Oliver.  I don’t see DeWayne Carter suddenly becoming a very good player IMO

I’m on board with Garrett … but it’s probably 10/1 he comes to Buffalo … so don’t get too hung up on him …still the Bills should work to improve the D though

Philly scored 40 because the D got Mahomes off the field on third down …. Then he got behind and gave up picks … what does he do against our D every year ? Sit back and have career best games ?

Giving  Josh more opportunities will improve the O

I want the entire offseason to be about defense.

offense keep Mack Hollins and Ty Johnson

if you can add a quality WR, great

The rest of the resources should be DL, CB and S

I'd be fine with it, at the end of the day we'd be adding an elite player to a defense that currently has none and at a premium position to boot. I'm just not convinced he'd be the salve to our playoff woes like a lot of fans seem to think. We aren't one player away from doing what Philly did tonight, not even close. I'd consider it a huge victory if we can force the Chiefs to punt 4 times against us, which is twice as many as they ever have.

perhaps release Von and bring in Khalil Mack along with hopefully landing Garrett

Mack still has games where he absolutely demolishes the opponent

I raked beane over the coals for that comment. “We aren’t drafting high enough to draft a Jamar Chase.”

No, we were. He just didn’t. 4 picks in the top 96 and zero difference makers.

Can you have a conditional pick based on if the player wins a Super Bowl?

my offer tomorrow would be

1st, 1st, 2nd that becomes a 1st if the Bills win a SB in 2026 or 2027 with Garrett on the roster

throw in another 2nd to get it done if needed

that said,

I don’t see Beane being aggressive enough to land Garrett.
He overvalues his high draft picks especially given how they have panned out
