Not like Shaq at all.   Rousseau ACTUALLY stops the run and creates pass rush.   He was tied for 11th in pressures and 17th in hurries among NFL DE's in 2024.   Very close to Crosby and Garrett in those pass rushing metrics.

He just hasn't been able to be a finisher to this point because he's not a great athlete.   But like I said,  he has ELITE GPS if the QB steps up in the pocket.   If they could force those situations he would become a sack producer.   Or he might just get better with experience and increased natural strength like Calais Campbell did.

Well said. I think if you put a stud pass rusher opposite, who does not HAVE to play LDE (like Von), you will unlock Groot. Might be adjacent to a comp you've used previously, which was Jerry Hughes as the "chaser", and what the Bills/Hughes lacked was the finisher.

And yes, from my untrained eye, Rousseau is an elite run defender at the edge.

I don't know man. Three of our TD drives featured big plays on downfield passes - 2 completions to Hollins, 1 DPI against Coleman. The other drives were really really tough sledding. Multiple 4th down conversions, Cook making an insane acrobatic play at the goalline, etc. Our regular season game against KC we won because two of our TD drives featured big downfield completions to Cooper. So I don't think we can just hand wave away how important a downfield passing offense is. And that part of our offense was not remotely good enough this year because the personnel wasn't good enough. We made it work with possibly unsustainable efficiency and turnover luck, but it shouldn't need to be that difficult with Allen as the QB. Downfield passing if anything should be the identity of our offense. I still believe that is our best path to a championship.

I mean- Samuel dropped a wide open pass that may have been a TD if you look at the all 22.  Kincaid dropped the biggest pass of the game.  Allen. Imported 65% of his passes-  add those 2 drops and he’s 70%+.  Plus we got robbed on a 4th down and 1.   If we converted on 1 of those 3 drives we score 32-35.  2 of those converted and we might’ve scored 40.

yet again our defense gave up 30+ yet again.  If the plan is to score 40+ in every playoff game (and every game vs soags)- I think it’s the wrong plan.    We need a better defense.

our offense was superb the majority of the season

No Offense bro but that says nothing about him lining up at college at safety or wide receiver or anything

"This multi-talented athlete is rated as a 3-star DE, but he’s a 4-star/5-star ATH in my mind. Rosseau, who plays multiple positions at Hialeah (FL) Champagnat Catholic, could realistically end up at WR, TE, DE, OLB, or even S at the collegiate level. "

Everybody knows he played multiple positions at Hialeah

The author says he could realistically end up at multiple positions.. not that he played multiple positions at the u

FYI that article is one full year before he ever stepped foot on campus...

he was still in high school and not even on campus for one full year

He never practiced at any position besides defensive end for Miami.. he enrolled January 15th 2018 and went right to the defensive line room

The problem is that even when we did play press man against KC they burnt us.  I posted videos of that on another thread.  We didn't have the personnel to cover those guys.

Agree, also don't think we knew how to handle a team being prepared for us to play man coverage.  Other times we caught teams off guard with it and it worked cause they werent expecting it.  KC seemed to know it could come and had man beaters built in that we were prepared to work through (switches or having the spy influence the crosser).  Sorta wished we had run it more during the regular season to see the adjustment teams would make to it.

I never said he didnt do that lol .... you said he practiced at tight end and wide receiver and safety for Miami u

There are plenty of people under the athlete category who go to college and play one position lol it's the label for recruits who play three or four positions in high school

It doesn't mean somebody labeled an athlete is going to play three positions in college... He enrolled January and went right to the defensive line room he never played safety wide receiver or tight end for Miami

Yes he did dude. He literally played other positions before the scrimmage.

In the scrimmage they were shocked at his strength development and dominance and that's when it became clear on what position he was going to be.

They didn't even know how his strength development would go necessarily because he was so raw, not just for dline but for the archetype and body development he would need to play in the trenches.

His dline coach literally said this in spring of 18

You literally haven't shown one article from any of his college coaches saying he practiced at Miami at safety or tight end or WR

You're wrong.. he literally went right to the defensive line room in January when he enrolled.. they didn't have him gain 25 lb to play wide receiver or safety

And he was never playing tight end at MIAMI U.. never.. even the article you quoted called him a 3 star defensive end but the author said I consider him a five-star athlete

He was already going to be a part of the defensive end room.. he went there day one

I literally showed you the article on him being recruited as an athlete.

He was primarily a wr and safety in highschool. I just showed you highlights of him playing wr/s lol

He played dline in the spring scrimmage of 18 and that's when his position became clear. It wasn't before that.

Everybody knows he was recruited as an athlete

That doesn't mean he was practicing at safety or tight end or wide receiver at any point for Miami U by the time he walked on campus ... He was with the defensive ends day one

They literally had him gain 25 pounds because he wasn't playing safety or wide receiver and he certainly was not playing tight end at the u.. he literally enrolled mid January went right to the defensive line room

Dec 20, 2017,

"To this point of his football career, Rousseau has been a “Jack of all trades, but master of none”. Having played WR, TE, OLB, DE, and S in HS, Rousseau has experience on both sides of the ball, and in multiple positions to boot. From the outside, the speaks to his ability to learn the playbook to execute his job in many areas, which should be a positive moving forward.

At 6’6” 225lbs, Rousseau will undoubtedly need to add weight and strength to his tall, lanky frame. With Miami recruiting him at DE"

Literally this is 3 weeks before he walks on campus.. with Miami recruiting him at defensive end... Quote

Bro you're getting weird.

I showed you the video of him playing wr in highschool. The video shows him playing safety too....

You then say the article ( from the a pro Miami website), doesn't say he's played multiple positions and could play multiple positions. It literally does say he's played multiple positions ( mainly wr/s) and could play multiple positions lol

I think what I'm gleaning off this page is that Rousseau is such a natural athlete the Browns should trade us Garrett for Rousseau straight up in a 1-for-1 trade

I think the Browns should throw in a late round pick or two for Beane to use as a chip moving around in the draft. Seems fair. Groot is younger, and he’s very tall.

I don't think you're reading skills are up to par bro

I agreed that he played multiple positions in high school.. in high school Greg played multiple positions

Once he got to Miami he instantly went to the defensive line.. he did not practice at safety or wide receiver

January 15th when he enrolled he went right to the defensive line room

And FYI there's tons of really big Miami hurricane fans here

Joe Marino said in his podcast that Myles has a no trade clause and thus could veto a trade to a team he doesn’t want to go to.  Major advantage for us as should eliminate about 80% of the league.

Better keep Amari cooper happy so he can talk to one of his old mates.  And, maybe it’s time to bend some rules, too.  Hopefully

josh has Myles’s number.
