Considering Garrett has been a good soldier who publicly asked for a trade, I don't think the Browns will play hardball with him. It's a business and they will (and should) maximize the return, but the player has expressed his wishes and earned the right, they're not going to risk it getting ugly.

…..but it’s the Browns, so what are the odds that they do the complete opposite?

The Browns.

IMO the Browns won't want hardly any salary back

So I'd offer 1st, 1st, 4th to start

2 ones and a four for Garrett and then Groot and both 2s for Crosby. Throw in a three the following year.

He was potentially a wr in his freshman year at Miami. There was talks of moving him to dline. They didn't fully move him to dline until later in his freshman season when he was dominant in practice....I have to find the quote, but his coaching staff wasn't exactly sure where he would play eveb after he had practiced on the dline. He was a wr / s in highschool. He permanently moved to dline in the fall of his freshman season but redshirted.

Rousseau didn't take actual game snaps on the dline until his red shirt freshman year

Gregg played defensive line two games as a true freshman before injuring his ankle

He played in the season opener versus LSU and then next week versus Savannah State where he got hurt and didn't play the remainder of the season

But he was on the defensive line day one opening game as a true freshman vs lsu

That's what I just said. He moved permanently to de in the fall of his freshman season

It was not his permanent position until his red shirt freshman year. Their staff wasn't sure

Again, the point is he was extremely raw as a prospect and his growth as a player still has more potential.

That's the point

He only played in one full year on the dline in college

The last sentence of your post literally said he didn't take snaps at defensive line till his red shirt freshman season

He was Miami's number three defensive end as a true freshman

He was a defensive end right out of the gate and hurt himself week 2

He never was a safety or wr at Miami .. he walked on campus A athlete who was playing defensive end

Would you be shocked if Groot went to a different team and flourished ?

Down the road? Not really. He has the tools and physical attributes to be dominant.

immediately? Depends, does he go somewhere with mediocre talent on defense? Then yes.

One with high end talent where he isn’t being relied upon as the best or second best player? Then no.

Gregory Rousseau was literally an all State wr in highschool. During his freshman season they weren't sure where he would play

He didn't move to de until the fall of his freshman season

Even then they still weren't sure about his position.

He didn't fully commit to dline until his red shirt freshman season.

I forgot the coach but there was talks of moving him to te during his freshman season.

His red shirt freshman year was really his only full year playing dline in actual college games outside a few snaps his freshman year

He wasn't de3 as a freshman.

I watched Gregg play in high school lol I've been a high school scout for a long time I go to camp all over the country

Gregg was literally a full-time defensive end at Miami as a true freshman.. he had nine sacks in two spring games as a true freshman

He was a permanent D end... By September when they played LSU and he was a true freshman.. not a red shirt a true freshman

He was literally already in their top four rotation but then he got hurt

He was a full-time defensive end.. never played safety tight end or wide receiver in the spring game as a true freshman he played defensive end

I am not playing the GM in my opinion :)
Since Myles can move around so well ,
Rosseau would be a damn fine compliment to that line.

Do Browns even want him though ?

Maybe they want him and maybe not. I’ll ask, “do you want to pay Rousseau $20M a year starting in 2026?” I don’t and that’s what it will take. These decisions aren’t made in a vacuum. You should trade him now to avoid overpaying or letting him walk with a potential comp pick. It’s the PERFECT time regardless of how good of a Robin he is.

As long as he doesn't go to KC !!

KC are winning Lombardi’s without him. No way they lose their mind and start shipping out premium picks.

Dude I can find you the quote. He wasn't just a de his freshman year. That's literally not true.

There was talks about wr, te and even moving him inside if he could build his frame differently.

He wasn't moved to dline and more specifically de until the fall in his freshman year. Even after they weren't sure he would stay at de

I follow recruiting very closely

But your point is moot.

The main point is he was extremely raw at the position. Not a pedantic conversation about what coaches were discussing about his future position his freshman year lol. Which by definition proves the point. He was raw as a dline prospect

Yes he was raw but you can still watch the Miami spring game.. never lines up at anything but D end

You can read 50 articles from his early freshman year like before September.. in May June July August

Always at defensive end.. they always talk about the WR/ safety who moved to defensive end

If you're the team's number 4 defensive end as a true freshman you're a defensive end.. we're talking game one

He was not playing multiple positions..  he never lined up at safety or tight end or wide receiver once for Miami

The spring games as a true freshman he had nine sacks in three springs scrimmages.. full time d end by the end of spring camp because he blew up the spring practices

Take the L dude ...

He was playing de as a true freshman in the fall

Which I already said.

It also wasn't just talk. He had practices earlier in his freshman year at te and wr.

Take what L?

He was considered an athlete in high school.. so of course rivals has him as an athlete? What

He literally went on campus in January of technically still his senior year of high school and instantly went into the defensive line room

https://caneswarning.com/2018/04/16/de-greg-rousseau-is-miami-hurricanes-biggest-surprise-of-spring/

True freshman Greg Rousseau gained 25 lb since coming on campus as a freshman.. excited to have him in the defensive end group

I never said Greg didn't play five positions in high school.. I said as soon as he walked on campus in Miami they made him a defensive end which they did

He never played anything else besides defensive end.. in April of technically his still senior year of high school but he was enrolled early... he had nine sacks in spring game practices ... In April!! He wasn't lined up at tight end or safety or wide receiver.. he was playing defensive end in April of his freshman year well before fall

He was not playing safety he was not playing wide receiver he was playing defensive end
