Does all the basic stuff great. You then realize there’s a model that does all the same things but other stuff better. That’s kind of where I’m at with Groot. Awesome edge defender and decent pass rusher but when you it’s time to play with the other shiny toys, it can be underwhelming. All 4 years he’s disappeared in the final game of our season against KC and Cincy. Neither team had the best tackles out there. That's the thing he that's worse as the season goes on typically.. doesn't play Big in the biggest game He is an athletic freak the dude was playing wide receiver and safety in high school.. an athletic freak But he never had put it all together pass rushing 3 Quote

With cap increases that’s not bad. 20 minutes ago, Sojourner said: I’m starting to get a feeling that he goes to the Commanders. If not there then he stays put. It makes the most sense. Eagles also, crazy as that sounds. Eagles can pull it off. Edited 4 hours ago by Buffalo_Stampede Quote

In a perfect world, we land Garrett, and keep Rosseau as a high end DE2. Although financials may make this very challenging. 1 1 Quote

I didn't say he was recruited as a wr... He didn't play defensive line until his red shirt freshman season. The point being there's still a potential growth in his game Edited 4 hours ago by Kelly to Allen Quote

Top pass rushers will sign for $28+ million. He’s not that. Something around $20 million is fair I believe. Cap increases will have edge players over $30 million soon. I was 100% on board with that type of deal, $20 million , but I didn’t like what I saw vs Kansas City. Now I’m hesitant. I still think he’s a good player but I’m more interested in trading him this offseason than signing him. I would love to pair him with an elite pass rusher next year though. So we will see what happens. Edited 3 hours ago by Buffalo_Stampede Quote

While they have contributed, there’s only one player who is untouchable. If we don’t get Garrett, we need to use this draft to bring in another wave of players to compete, add depth, and possibly make some expendable. Yeah in the past Beane has been a bit too quick to extend some "good" players and it's gotten them in some cap difficulty. In some of those cases, they might be able to use the excuse that they were trying to build a culture. But the culture is set now, they just survived and played well thru a season without the Morse/Poyer/Hyde types they used to cling to. They need to get used to this cycle like teams like Baltimore and KC have and embrace replacing "good" players and not being too quick to extend them. 2 Quote
