Well I would absolutely love it, we pretty much wouldn't have a draft for about 2 years to make it happen.

I don't care anymore.  It's not like our draft picks in the first 3 rounds pan out anyway.  Get a proven commodity.

Crosby without question! Maxx was injured last year and missed 5 games. 2023 he had 14.5 sacks - but, he has WAY more solo tackles than Garret. Hs for his whole career. Maxx Crosby is our guy if Beane can swing it.

Heck, I'll take either but Crosby is a different player. he can sack, he can chase and tackle, he cuts the edge hard!

I like that both are available.   Beane could play Maxx and Myles deals against each other.   He can choose by lower compensation

Superstars always have the leverage when they ask for a trade now.   I guess you don't understand how it works.   This is basically a Matt Stafford in Detroit situation.  And Cleveland can look at that seemingly hideous trade and realize that there is always a way to re-build.

So enlighten me. What’s Garrett’s play if the Browns tell him they won’t trade him?

Two firsts... Beane whiffs on those anyway.

Sooo ...Beane makes the picks for the Browns 🤔

Throw in McDermott calling the Browns challenges for 2025 and I am all in for this trade! 😀

We always get excited about these guys then get let down when it doesn’t happen. I’m going to just be ridiculous and suggest something that sounds like a joke. Get both. Find a way to move money. Don’t get Crosby or Garret. Get both and see what happens

I feel like every time Higgins is mentioned everyone immediately says no way we can afford him. But now every single Bills fan and analyst is desperate for us to trade for Garrett and give him probably the same type of money? I don't know how anyone watched that last game and thinks pass rush was our issue. I'm all for getting a 1st round EDGE on a rookie contract but it shouldn't be our flagship investment of the offseason IMO.

It's not a 1 player fix.   But the reality is that this has always been the McBeane dream.   Difference making DL drives their system.  In their opinion.

WR?  They let Allen take two years of lumps before they grudgingly dealt for Diggs.  I don't think a Garrett trade would preclude them making a big move at WR but I also don't think it's either or.   It's more likely they draft defense heavy every day of the draft and try to run it back on offense.

And I think that re-building the secondary is something that can be done on the relative cheap and with day 3 picks.   Taron Johnson and Christian Benford were day 3 picks.   5'11 190# guys who can run are findable.   And there were 28 starting safeties in free agency last year and this year's FA class will also be over-stuffed.

For the record, I find you DO know how it works …

So for me it's not about the picks. It's about the money. Whatever money we'd give to Garrett, I would sign Tee Higgins and use remaining resources to add to the secondary. I really don't think Garrett is the player that gets us over the hump. His impact on the AFCCG I think would have been minimal. Having a go-to WR downfield however would have made a big. Having CBs and safeties that can man up would have given our DL more than 2 seconds to get home. I'm not interested in any major investment that doesn't fix the issues that lost us the AFCCG.

They need both the secondary and D line upgraded … both positions are average at best now … they also need an elite player that can make a game changing play in a big moment on the D line - as the Chiefs have Jones whom you speak very highly of ..

Tee Higgins is probably as good a WR as ever makes it to Free agency ( if he does actually make it there and he doesn’t get tagged by the Bengals)  ..although I would suggest he would be around 15 -20 overall at the position …, I think you overvalue his potential impact in that game last week  … and I think it would be far easier to get someone of his talent level than Garrett in the draft …

They can upgrade the secondary through the draft

It’s going to be tough to get Garrett.., but they need to be in there trying as hard as anybody

Defense should be our flagship investment.  The front 4 should be top priority.  I'm not going to lose sleep if we don't land Higgins. Keep drafting wrs and keep developing Kincaid, Coleman.  Guys like Hollins, Shakir and Samuel should be as good if not better.

Wouldn't it be nice to hit big on a late 1st or 2nd round DL pic?

Beane and McDermott don't know how to draft or scout DL. Kinda pathetic how bad the record on picks and signings is.

Don't show up to OTA's, don't show up to camp, don't involve himself in team or community activities and just show up on game day.

That doesn't sound like much but for a team in re-build it would be a huge distraction, morale killer and coach underminer.

A team flexing on it's best player and team leader just doesn't work.   Like Stafford, he's paid his dues.

I understand that draft capital is important from a talent and also monetary standpoint in terms of a controlled salary cap. But to get a guy like Garrett or Crosby you have to give up some quality assets. Anybody who thinks that giving up a couple early round draft picks or a combination thereof with Greg Rousseau (or another player) isn’t worth a guy like Crosby or Garrett is playing it too safe.

At least with guys like that you know what you were getting. While The draft is always a crapshoot. It Doesn’t matter how good our player personnel and scouting department is, you’re still hoping and praying with these picks. Especially in the draft positions that the bills are drafting.

The bills have to take chances! High risk / high reward. The Rams did exactly that a few years ago, and won the whole thing!

Sometimes when you dont have the experience in an important faction of your business you have to go buy it... yes you pay a premium but you get what you need as long as that premium doesnt sink the company.. this is akin to that... for years and years and years.. Beane and Co have demonstrated that they cannot draft DL and to some extent WR... its time to go acquire someone... this team needs a menace on d that the other team game plans around... that raises the level of those around him... so, either we get lucky in the draft or we go get a proven commodity.  I am all for the proven commodity at our juncture of development. We have a lot of what we need to win it all... a player like this helps.. a lot
